I have been taking my pets to Lawrenceburg Vet Clinic approx. 30 yrs. when they were located about 1-2 miles east of current location. Dr. Jacobson was the primary vet and they were set up in a trailer. I have never had a bad experience with them. About 7 yrs ago I took 3 stray kittens to them but could not afford to pay for their services. Dr. K (the one kbwitte says is in it only for the money) treated all 3 kittens for respitory problems, fleas, worms, mites, infection in the eyes and kept them for 3 days giving them antibiotics, flea dips, etc. When I first took them in there I told Dr. K they were strays and I could not afford very much to treat them and could he help me out. He ended up not charging me anything and even sent me home with medication to continue treatment. He said that because I was a long time client he would help me. I kept 2 of the kittens and Dr. K took 1 for his sister-in-law. When I inherited my mom's diabetic dog I took him down there. Since my dog needed to be tested I was only charged for the test but not charged an office call and they clipped his nails for no charge. Before this dog I had a little dog who ended up having a stroke and cancer and I had to have her put down. The vet (Dr. K) was very compansionate and understood my loss. With all of the animals I have taken to Lawrenceburg Vets so many times each I have always seen one of the vets - yes, the technicians drew blood, clipped nails, did minor work but I have never been there that I did not see one of the vets. I have never felt that I or my pet was unimportant and that I was being seen by the technicians only because the doctors could not bother. My neighbor also takes her two dogs there and she, like me, would not take them anywhere else. I feel sorry for kbwitte and amberritz5 that their experiences with Lawrenceburg Vets were not to their likings. My pets have been seen and treated by all of the vets at one time or another over the years, and all of them are equal in their care and concern for the animals they see. I am sure they are in their business to make money - why else would one have a business, but you will never make me believe that is their sole purpose. I have dealt with them far too long to not know they do care about the animals they see and the people who bring their animals into the clinic. For me, you could not pay me to go to another veterinary doctor. I will continue to tell any pet owner that listens of my positive experiences with Lawrenceburg Vet Clinic for the past 30 plus years. They are reasonable in their fees, not overadjusting for inflation, and all of them have shown concern and a genuine care for the animals they treat. As for kbwitte and amberritz5 it appears no vet is good enough for them - they probably did Lawrenceburg Veterinary Clinic a favor by now going back. As for me, as long as I have a pet, I will be a Lawrenceburg Veterinary Clinic client.
