I took my cat in to have a check up, then we decided to get her teeth cleaned and have a skull x-ray. We made the appointment, were told to have her fast before the procedure and take her in between 7:30-8:30AM. I did what was instructed to do, and left her in their care for the day. Let me just start by saying whoever the older receptionist lady is, really needs to learn customer service skills. I came in and she didn't even acknowledge me. Finally she asked what I was there for, called to someone in another room and then went about her way, without letting me know they were coming or tell me to have a seat, nothing. TIme went on and no word, so my husband called to see what was going on. They told him that "they checked for stones", but "weren't able to get to her cleaning and x-ray today". WHAT?! 1. Stones were NEVER mentioned EVER, even during her initial checkup. 2. The ONLY reason she was there was for a teeth cleaning and x-ray, and they "didn't have time"?! As you can imagine, he was pretty baffled. He went to pick her up and the girl there said that she got our cat and another cat confused, so she wasn't checked for stones. She was literally there from 7:30AM to 4:30PM with nothing done whatsoever. What I don't understand is why they didn't call us at all to tell us that they weren't able to get to her today. It shouldn't have taken all day for them to realize that or for us to call to get an update! I really thought this place was more reputable than this! I am beyond upset that this has happened and that there was absolutely no communication. Will NEVER go back and will NOT recommend to anyone!
Dr. Boyce has been my vet since 2005 when I started going there with Guinea Pigs for 4-H. As I got older and got married, we took our cats there to get declawed and neutered and a few dogs there to get neutered. I've had a Guinea Pig with a throat abscess, a cat with a severe bladder infection, and a Miniature Pinscher where one testicle never dropped and was floating around near his liver. All of them received expert and world class care and were in perfect health within a day or two. Not to mention Boyce Animal Hospital gives the best quality care for the price! For a full exam, heart worm test, vaccinations, dental work, and grooming for a 90lb. German Shepherd it would cost $350 - $400 at Boyce Animal, depending on if any complications arise. With other Vet Clinics in the area and even in the New Castle area it'd START at $500 and go up from there, one Vet went as high a $2,000. You just can't beat the quality service, experience, and care for the price that Boyce gives! I recommend him to anyone and everyone!
Boyce has been my animal hospital since I arrived in muncie with my dogs. They have always been compassionate and caring. And when I had to visit them for cremation services fro one of my dogs, they not only allowed me time with my dog before she was taken away, but later send me a condolence card. Any vet that takes the time to express their sympathy will always get looked upon favorably.
