I have been going to McAfee Animal Hospital for over 16 years now, I drive 23 miles and about 45 minutes. I drive this because I went thru every vet in the Schererville area and found all lacking. Dr. Steve is the best of the best. He has always been there for me and my pets. Has never pushed me into doing something I didn't want too. I would and have recommended him to everyone that wants the best for their pet. 5 stars are not enough they are a 10 in my book

I'm not sure why some of these reviews are horrible. McAfee Animal Hospital is AWESOME!! I have been taking my dogs there for 9 years, not a single complaint. They have never tried to get me to purchase extra things or do unnecessary procedures, in fact when my Giant Schnauzer had ACL repair 8 yrs ago it failed and Dr. Steve re did it at no cost to me. They are very passionate about animals. You get what you pay for, so if you want an in and out vet go to a Quack that won't take the time to listen to you or pay attention to your animal.I recommend McAfee to everyone!

First off, I waited at least half an hour after my appointment time. Now for a normal doctor, its just me waiting. For her, my cat is stuck in its carrier for MUCH longer than she should be. Its unfair to her to be forced to sit through that. Second, it's supposed to be a free visit for post adoption within two weeks of the adoption. So they tell you they have to do several things during this visit. Then they send you a bill, without actually mentioning that you will have to pay for it. They want extra unnecessary vaccinations for your pet (even though the shelter said that they are up to date.) Its a scam to drain every penny out of you. NEVER again will I step foot in here.

I have been going to vets with pets for over sixty years. This clinic staff is extremely friendly and the vets give the dogs excellent attention. I never feel hurried and always respected.
