Dr Kahn has cared for five of our family's pets, 2 dogs and 3 cats, over the past 10 years and my husband and I have found him to be an excellent clinician. For example, on one occasion, my miniature schnauzer was mauled by a neighborhood dog on a Friday afternoon just after closing. Dr. Kahn looked him over and promptly recommended that we take him to the 24-hour veterinary clinic in Ft Wayne that had the equipment to treat him. He started him on fluids via IV as he'd lost a lot of blood and called ahead so they were ready when we arrived. That was 5 years ago when the dog was 7, and he made a full recovery. Dr Kahn is also a good surgeon as far as I can tell by the outcomes of 2 non-routine surgical procedures he performed, a bladder surgery to remove stones, and a fatty tumor removal, both on the same dog. The bladder surgery was a repeat of one done by a doctor in another town (only ~1 year before) who prescribed a "special" diet after having the stones analyzed. After the removal of the new stones by Dr Kahn after I saw bloody urine, he sent the crystals to a lab and recommended a different diet. The dog has had no recurrence of stones after 8 years. He's also euthanized our 15 year-old English Setter with compassion and empathy. Of course, he's performed the standard spay/neuter/declawing procedures for all of our pets. He has always provided excellent care although there is sometimes a wait. The extent of a health problem can't always be predicted based on information supplied by pet owners before an exam is performed. But be assured he will provide your pet with thorough, comprehensive care under any circumstances, even if he has to run over the allotted appt length.

Don't really have a rating for the vet but scheduled a new appointment with my new puppy. Appointment was scheduled at 11:30 and was told by my friend who referred me "get ready to wait in the waiting area". I had no idea it would be a full hour. After an hour past my appointment I cancelled and decided to go back to my previous vet who we have had lots of success with but is a bit of a drive from our house (20 minutes). The lady next to me in the waiting area waited for 50 minutes before she was seen. She told me last time she was in it was over an hour before she got taken back. Clearly this is a pattern! The vet might be good but unless you can afford to block off 2-3 hours of your day for an appointment I wouldn't recommend it!

My family and I took our youngest dog Bella to see Dr. Kahn at his vet clinic Tuesday May 21st and he examined her and treated her for a bacteria infection. The vets office called the next day to check on her and let us know what they found in her stool. We gave her medicine for that (but she came very sick in the 3rd week of May). We took her back this past Saturday back to the vet for them to do xrays, blood work, and they kept her there to give her fluids and antibiotic through a iv, because she stopped eating and she wouldn't drink anything. She couldn't use her back legs, meanwhile all this is going on the dr got the blood results back and everything looked good except her kidneys was up a little and her heart rate dropped. Long story short we lost our dog, and we have no answers for the reasoning. Starting Sunday he didn't call when he said he would and his answers was well maybe she got into this or I don't know. He kept her comfortable yes but that's about it. I also called Sunday night and left a message on his cellphone to contact me asap because we wanted to take her to the emergency clinic in ft wayne and he never called back. I called this morning to find out our dog was dead and he was supposed to call before we came and got her..once again never did. He was supposed to call this evening and never did. I like the staff and the receptionist, but for dr.khan I wouldn't recommend to take your pet to him. If they are in bad shape take them to emergency clinic or a vet clinic that has been in your family for years that you trust and know. I rate his staff and receptions an 8 I rate him a 2..He gave lots of information at first appointment but after that I feel he could have done a lot more to try and save our baby girls life or send her to someone that knew what to do for her.
