The staff is very friendly and the prices very affordable. My dogs received their vaccinations through Bonner Animal Care and I had no issues with that. However, I had my male puppy neutered, and it went well, with one exception. they apparently did not have his size of cone, so they fitted him with a makeshift "cone" made from x-ray film. This was miserable for him. The sound scared him out of his mind, and it was such thin plastic, that it was cutting into his neck. I had my hubby stop at Petsmart on his way home from work and buy a cone. We didn't know how the cone was supposed to fit, and it ended up being too short. Our puppy got to his stitches & ripped them open. What made matters the most frustrating was that I was unaware that the vet was not open the next day. They never informed me of this and I wasn't aware beforehand. I ended up having to take my puppy to Welborn to get his incision closed back up, and get him on antibiotics to avoid any infection. It ended up costing me just as much as it did for the original surgery to get it fixed. Luckily, he's okay. I honestly feel like this was a fluke. But my main issue is that Bonner Animal Care did not call me & let me know that they were out of cones his size. I didn't become aware of it until I picked him up. It was heartbreaking to see my guy with x-ray film stapled around his neck & he was absolutely terrified. If they had called me, told me what I needed, I could have picked it up and brought it with me, and none of this ever would have happened -- I wouldn't have had to basically pay double. My conclusion: When I get my female puppy spayed, I will be going to Welborn. I just can't take chances with my babies and I want more professional care given to them. It's a further drive, but it's worth it to me.
