RUDE, they aren't a vet, they are a business. It's not about comforting the dog or the owner rather just keep the money flow... I have taken my 2 dogs here before, they both were spades here and the younger 1 got all her shots there. Today I took both of them to get microchips put in and my older dog to get her yearly shots. This doctor is not the type to constantly be smiling or comforting, she just wants to get the job done which I understand that's her personality. However, today I walked into the vet and the a girl in the front, whom I guess is new because I never met her before, doesn't say hello or welcome or any greeting she just says who do you have today referring to which dogs I brought in. Then another girl comes in and the first girl whispers in her ear while they both look at me and laugh. I brushed all of that off and tried not to think anything of it. Lily and Chloe, my dogs were uncomfortable and they started barking in the waiting room and the second girl rather than being comforting as the vets office should be told them what do you think this is your house and she laughed and walked away. Shortly after the vet came to take them to the room. I proceeded to confirm that the microchips she was about to put into the dogs were in in coordinates with states that have rabies laws. I also explained that the instruction forms stated that the dogs need to have 2 rabies shots one year apart and my dogs weren't even a year old. With condescension she insisted that in those situations they always make exceptions for puppies and that I had misunderstood all of the forms. Even after I had informed her that I had spoken with the proper authorities and those who were their exact words she still continue to be condescending and infer that I misunderstood I misunderstood and

Had a terrible experience with the older male Veterinarian who was trimming my Jack Russell Terrier's nails. From the beginning of the appointment he judged me as an uninformed parent who needed a little schooling from the all-knowing Vet with fancy letters behind his name. Yes, JRTs are typically difficult dogs and it is easy to write one off based on that stereotype. Bella is NOT. She's trained to work with abused children and a damn good dog at home. She's a victim of abuse, herself (centered around her legs and paws - she has a bum back knee because of that) and her and I have been working on triggers so nail trims do not have to result in explosive situations. She doesn't respond well to aggression toward her or her Mom. I informed both the front desk and him this before he started and he shrugged off the information by telling me I have a difficult dog, and that "maybe she was abused"... like I was making it up. After aggressively muzzling her (then reprimanding her for reacting to his aggressive behavior - and scolding Mom for not reprimanding her for reacting to aggressive behavior), he proceeded to explain how training his horse is relevant and that my method was not best practice for good behavior. I told him that he may perceive me as soft, since I do work with abused children, but I feel like my method of parenting works for our family. It seems to work for Bella, since she is very well-behaved at home as well as with clients. Yes, she's high-energy (it comes with the breed), but we give her a lot of time, love, and care to meet her high-energy needs so that we naturally build a trust-relationship with her. She understands the commands that are meaningful to her life and responds in an expected way, based on our behavior toward her. Its so easy to judge someone when you don't know them. Seeing no reason to argue, I scooped up my baby, paid, and left, successfully remaining respectful and calm. I waited for my husband to arrive home from work and we decided that Bella deserved better treatment and the next day, I made an appointment with a Vet we are familiar with who is trauma-informed. While Bella was getting her check-up, she had me sit and talk with another client who had a similar experience there. Same review. "Judgy, rude, intolerant of abused animals, and aggressive." I decided I should post a review. I went on their Facebook page and posted a statement about my experience. A short time later, I received a condescending reply minimizing my experience from the Great Vet, himself. The exchange was a reflection of the time I spent there. Disrespectful. Unwillingness to listen. Didn't even have the decency to apologize for how he handled the situation. He was just trying to cover it up. While answering the question, "Where should I take my pet(s) for his/her/their Veterinary need(s)?" I do not recommend bringing them here. If you do have concerns, you will be met with the following replies: - Be better at parenting MY WAY. - I am all knowing and you know nothing. - Your dog/cat sucks. Its not worth it. Take them elsewhere.

I've been to Little Apple, Konza, and now Westside. Westside is by far the best out of the three. I have a pit bull which obviously can be an intimidating breed. The vet at Westside isn't judgmental of him and genuinely cares about him as well as my other two dogs. I highly recommend taking your pets here!

I recently moved to the area and I am always nervous about taking my dog to a new vet. It seems like more often than not, they really try to charge you for anything they can and run a lot of unnecessary tests in order to rack up your bill (like an extra 150 bucks for a "geriatric exam" or getting an estimate to extract a tooth for $600 only to discover from another vet that it would be an unnecessary removal). I love my 10 year old terrier, but I am also not willing to spend more on her healthcare than I do my own. She suffers from seasonal allergies and always gets skin problems around harvest. Dr. K and her assistant were both really nice and took the time to do some extra wound care instead of just throwing some pills at me. The basic visit fee was $50, but they didn't charge extra for trimming her nails and only $5 for spending 15 minutes shaving and cleaning out her wound. I would definitely recommend them and will be going to them in the future.
