We were staying in Indian River with our three dachshunds. The oldest, Nellie, had been diagnosed with cancer but had been doing ok. On Saturday, she stopped eating and by Sunday, she was breathing hard and choking. We knew that she couldn't go on this way so we looked for a Vet Clinic online and found the Indian River Vet Clinic. They said that they could see her that afternoon. We knew it was time to put Nellie to sleep and the staff was so caring and sensitive and gave Nellie a sedative 5 minutes before the lethal dose. She went peacefully. We told them that we wanted to take her home to bury her and they offered to keep her remains in the freezer until we went back home. They also sent a sympathy card to us which I though was very nice. If I lived in Northern Michigan, these would be the people that I would choose to care fro my pets.
