My experience with this hospital was excellent! I am writing this because I'm shocked to see such bad reviews. My dog is alive because of them, and when I expressed that the initial quote was more than I could afford, they found another option for us. I hope that no one lets these negative reviews stop them from helping their pet.

I took my dog in because he was very congested, was reverse sneezing, hacking & gasping- seemed to be having trouble breathing and couldn't sleep. The veterinarian was professional but quoted me $395!! for X-ray, antibiotic shot, antibiotic & dewormer to take home & a medication for his appetite. I declined the X-ray & appetite medication because his appetite was fine and I could get the X-ray at my regular vet if needed, (the diagnosis in question was kennel cough) and I paid $215. Over the next few hours my dog threw up white foamy stuff 3 times so I called to find out if this might be from the medication or a more serious issue and if I needed to do something else. The "veterinary technician" Susan would not let me speak to the doctor because he was "sleeping" then she said that the doctor who treated my dog won't be in again for 2 more days. Among other statements, she proceeded to tell me that I can't just call to get "free advice over the phone." Needless to say, I will not be back to this place.

THE WORST PLACE to bring your pet. 1. Overpriced, My dog was hit by a car the cost to euthanize him over 400.00. But before they talked us into killing our dog they told us to give him pain meds and that was 70.00... Money Money Money was all they could think about. 2. No compassion: All they were worried about was how we were going to pay them. Not saving our dog, not our feelings, not our pet. All they did was discourage us the entire time we were there. 3. Lack of information: They never gave us any information after they killed our dog. They didn't give us the option to sign up for the credit card to pay the bills if we wanted to save our dog. We are totally devastated about our dig getting hit, but I feel if we would of went to a better Pet ER the outcome would of been much different. If you love your pet please seek a different facility.

Took my 1 year old puppy here. Late afternoon on a Saturday. They gave a price range of something like $700-$900. She went in to get her torn accessory pad removed. I was told I could get her back at 7:00 PM. I didn't see her until 11:00 PM that night. My gf's parents helped to pay the outrageous price. They talked to the parents on the phone and misquoted them. When the parents complained they vet tech just said it must have been a mistake. I will never go here again. This isn't the first vet hospital I've had to take her to. My experience at Wilson's in Romeo was much much better than here. The worse part was as soon as we came in we could hear nothing but dogs and cats crying. Immediately my puppy became anxious. When the vet tech met us she didn't even give me a chance to introduce my dog to her, a stranger. My dog snapped at her, I've never seen that happen. They muzzled her for the exam. Again, had no problems like this at Wilson's. If you care for your animals whatsoever DO NOT bring them here. Not only will you get ripped off, you'll get lied to. Worse vet hospital ever.

I read some of the reviews here while waiting in the waiting room at Veterinary Emergency Services and so I thought I should add my two cents. We were referred by our primary veterinarian because our pup had gotten into some things she shouldn't have been eating and we were concerned she might have an intestinal injury that needed surgery. I'd done some homework on possible causes of her symptoms and so I already had in mind some questions and things I thought would be worth checking. When we came in, the staff was friendly and got us into a room right away. It wasn't too busy. We filled out some paperwork, and Dr. Mac came in a few minutes later. We discussed the situation and she told me the possible causes -- all of which matched up with what I had been worried about. She wanted to do some testing and I thought they were all reasonable and perfectly justifiable given her condition. She didn't suggest doing any testing that did not seem reasonable. I thought it was helpful that they provided an estimate prior to starting any procedures. Although Emergency Vets are more expensive, they did not seem out of line compared to other similar facilities (and a lot less expensive than human medicine!). In fact, the cost of my pup's x-ray is what we would have paid at a regular veterinary clinic. And at most veterinary clinics, labs are sent out and results don't come for a few days. Here, they could run all the tests she needed and get results back in under an hour. In an emergency situation, I'd rather pay more for fast results. As far as treatment, I thought they did a good job explaining what they had found in the tests and recommending a course of action. For her condition, if they'd have just wanted to make money on our visit they could have easily asked to keep her for observation overnight and maybe get her some fluids and we would have probably have agreed. They didn't. They thought she looked good enough to go home on meds (which were reasonably priced). They sent us out the door with an accurate report of our visit and her x-ray on CD. I don't like paying high vet bills any more than the next person, but our experience here was good and Dr. Mac seemed fantastic. Hopefully the pup won't need any more emergency care, but if she does I would be comfortable taking her back there.
