I really love this place and want to stay, however, Dr. Gilbert is a megalomaniac who treats her staff like garbage. I've seen it in person. The people who work there are amazing, loving, and helpful. However, Dr. Gilbert is condescending and unprofessional in every way. I wouldn't talk anyone out of bringing their pet here, just please beware of Dr. Gilbert. She is truly horrible. I rated this 4 stars for the people who work here. I still bring my dog here, but avoid Dr. Gilbert at all costs.

This review is for their boarding: I live in Grand Rapids but work in Battle Creek. I researched all the daily boarding kennels to watch my dog during the day between the two cities and I picked Richland Animal Hospital for a couple reasons. 1.) they were vet 2.) They looked most professional. i.e. web camera 3.) it was on my way to work I can tell you they are the most expensive I have found. For me it didn't matter much because of the above reasons. My dog is so happy when I drop him off and it is fun to watch him play on the web camera. I have seen a measurable difference between my dog going there twice a week and him locked up at home all day. great resource!

As our pet is part of our family, I recommend Richland Animal Hospital for anyone that is looking for excellent vet care. We have been seeing Dr. Gilbert for several years and our dog has been going there since we got him as a puppy. The doctors, technicians and front desk staff are fantastic. They are truly extraordinary people! You can tell that they have a true love for animals. I had to bring my dog in as an emergency last week and they got me in right away, made sure all of my concerns were addressed and have been phenominal with his follow up care. We have always felt peace of mind with Richland Animal Hospital. This is a professional group of people and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinary clinic with quality staff!

Dr. Kerry Gilbert is a bad vet. You would not believe how bad the turnover rate is at this hospital. She fires everyone that works for her, for the most trivial, meaningless reasons. Want proof that Dr. Gilbert is a horrible, cruel boss? Go to the Richland Animal website, and click the link "about our staff." Read the names and look at the pictures of her current employees. Go back in a month, and I GUARANTEE that many of the staff will have been replaced. She yells constantly. She insulted employees relentlessly, in front of other employees. One of the other nice, wonderful doctors even had to leave to start a practice in Florida because she couldn't stand Dr. Gilbert. Do not support this business, please.
