I've only been to the clinic once, and my first impression was that the staff behind the desk appeared friendly enough, yet they didn't really seem to have any sort of knowledge whatsoever. The reason I was there was to pick up my mother's miniature dachshund from being spayed. Upon dismissal of the patient, the front desk staff didn't offer up any information as to after care, what to look for, feeding instructions, etc. They basically said nothing except that "she did a great job!" while handing over the dog. I had to ask them (for my mother's sake) what she should watch for, how much food the dog should have that evening, if she needed to limit exercise, etc. I happen to know these things as I am a technician myself and have never heard of an animal hospital dismissing a patient without any sort of conversation as to the patient's further needs. When these questions were asked (pretty simple questions if you ask me- a spay is a very common occurrence in an animal hospital) the front desk staff didn't seem to know the answers. I basically had to fill in all the information for them. It reflected quite poorly on them in my mind. I'd be wary of taking any of my animals to a clinic that I didn't feel employed knowledgeable staff. Another thing that I don't like is that the animal hospital doesn't have a web page. In this day and age, you can have a very basic web page for free. It makes no sense. Come out of the dark ages!
