We are new to this Vet, I have used 4 other vet clinics in the 8 yrs I have had our dogs (couldn't find the right fit). This Vet (Dr. Hartnett) is by far the best! He is extremely knowledgeable and personable. He has a little clinic, which can get tight but it is far from dingy (as 1 reviewer stated)..far from it! The staff and service are completely incomparable to any other vet. I am way beyond pleased with finding this place and this man to care for my animals. Today, we had to put our beloved boxer Bam (8yrs old) down, due to heart failure that Dr. Hartnett tried to manage (another vet misdiagnosed) but it came so suddenly and didn't respond to treatment. Dr. Hartnett was so calm and comforting letting me know that the decision I made was the right one. He also gave me options to prolong my dogs life (but I had no idea how much pain he was in and I would be selfish to do this). All I can say is this vet is worth every penny I pay! (in my honest opinion this vet is less expensive that other vets I have seen where I received unsatisfactory service) You CANNOT beat the service or staff at Long Lake Vet. I should know I've seen 4 vets! Thank you Long Lake Vet and Dr. Hartnett for caring as much as I do! As long as I have pets this is the place I will be going!

Best vet out there! Dr. Harnett loves our dogs almost as much as we do and understands how to relay things to you gently and so they make sense. We love the small feel of the clinic too, it's more home-y. Definitely recommend this vet!

I highly recommend this clinic for your pets. I have been bringing my two dogs here for the past two years and have been very happy. The vets here are compassionate and caring and are never pushy about their services. They explain everything and are very thorough. I have been to other vets including the big fancy places and this place beats them hands down.

I have been with Doc Hartnett for 30 years. Moving around the northern suburbs I have tried many other vets that are closer, but always end up traveling the distance to make sure my animals are treated with compassion. While it may be true he has not remodeled as many years as I have been there the place is far from dingy, or impersonal. There are so many things that impress me about the clinic, but the one thing that impresses me most is that he does the entire exam and treatment in your presence, with the only exception being if you need to leave your pet for surgery. Doc's compassion and competence is paws and tails above the rest!

We started bringing our dogs here when we moved to the area on 2007 and our cat when we adopted him. I was always impressed with the vet office in our previous home town and was leery about finding a new Dr., but I can't say enough good things about this office. From the vets to the office staff they are 100% authentic about how much they care about your pet, and that follows through to the compassion they show to you as the adopter of the pet. We're lucky to have them in our area.
