I have always received excellent care for my two cats. I have been taking them to Companions Animal Hospital since I adopted them from the local Humane Society when they were 6 weeks old. They are now 3 years old. The staff is knowledgeable and caring. I believe Dr. Nancy Altena is an outstanding veterinarian.
Dr. Altena is a wonderful vet, and the staff there is friendly and competent.
Terribly over priced. If you love to throw money in the trash, or make a big pile of it and set it on fire, this is the place for you! Tried telling me to have my dog neutered and a few teeth pulled, it would cost 700+ dollars! Instantly walked out and called another vet. Cost will be about 200-250. The staff is nice here but not worth paying triple what another vet costs.
Staff is courteous, genuine, and communicate well. I feel they are also careful and pretty exact about things. I appreciate being given records of the care my cats received. The facility is neat and clean and professional. Concerning tests, immunizations, etc.----those were my choices and I was not pressured. Vet care costs money. I will choose the level of care I think is appropriate.
I brought my newly adopted kitten to Companions for an exam to make sure all was well. I am a college student who normally brings my other cat to a vet back home, but I thought I would start looking for a vet in the area. Companions seemed very nice at first, but shortly after arriving I noticed I was being treated like an idiot, I was never with one person for more than 3 minutes, this including the vet, and once I told them I wanted to hold off on optional procedures (due to the fact I was getting a terrible feel for the place and wanted to go else where) they simply treated me like a terrible pet owner who did not care for my own pet's wellbeing. Having another cat, I am familiar with bringing my pets to the vet, however I have never received such a lack of personable service and prices that I do not feel are justified. The whole reason I brought my kitten in was to make sure he was doing well, yet I never was given a real answer since I was never with anyone long enough to find out what was good and what he needed. When I am at the vet I want to feel like I know the vet, and I want to know they care about my pet, rather than them trying to up-sell me the 'Gold Care Package' or teeth cleaning for a kitten who only has a month of kitten teeth left.
