My dog is in dire need of cruciate ligament repair. It is an emergency as he weighs 120 pounds and is completely immobile since his other rear leg cannot support his weight. My regular vet does not have a surgeon on staff and neither does my usual emergency hospital. My vet referred me here but when I called to verify that my vet had made initial contact to get things moving, I was put on hold for 10 minutes, treated very rudely by a staff member and then hung up on. I have since decided to take my beloved pet elsewhere. If they treat humans this way I cannot even imagine how they treat poor defenseless animals!

I love VSS and will never go anywhere for my pet. Dr. Greer is amazing and so loving to animals. We brought our sweet little Cavapoo to VSS on New Years Day morning after being told by the Kirkwood Emergency Animal Hospital vet that he was too sick (septic shock) to have surgery at their facility. The vet referred us to the Ballwin VSS, and we could not be more grateful for them. Dr. Greer took care of Triscuit and literally saved his life. The chances of him surviving a 3rd surgery were 50-50. So, very risky, but she was so honest, clear about possible outcomes and the cost. The facility was incredibly clean, and every staff member is professional, compassionate and kind. I will only take Triscuit to VSS, and will refer all friends and family to this facility. Dr. Greer called us with updates, and better yet, kept the cost within the original estimate, even though the surgery was MUCH more complicated and involved resection of his intestine and suctioning out the sepsis. All of the vets at this facility are amazing, bright, compassionate and have excellent bedside manner. My family and I could not get over how clean the Ballwin VSS was, especially when coming in on off hours, and a holiday! As a clinician, I was extremely impressed with everything about VSS- and if I could give it 10 stars, I would. Love them! Triscuit survived and is doing great! Thank you Dr. Greer and team!

Our old, terminally sick cat became very ill and in distress during the night and we knew we could not wait until morning to have her euthanized by our local vet hospital so we rushed her out to VSS where we had never been before, hoping we had made the right decision. We were met at the door and our cat was cared for immediately by the most thoughtful and compassionate staff. Our darling old cat was handled carefully and respectfully and the procedure was explained to us and carried out with every thought for her comfort. It is such a wrenching experience to have a pet euthanized but we were comforted by the professionalism and compassion of the staff at VSS. It's good to know there is a service like this available.

I've been to Veterinary Specialty Services a few times, and each visit with their p.m. female veterinarian has been Awesome! The p.m. Vet each visit has been a very loving & caring vet and she was able to take care of my dog's needs! The hospital has a highly skilled staff!

They have been the best I have ever seen. From dealing with one of our dogs that had cancer and no one else would help. to the end with our beloved Athena they did everything in their powers to help.
