Words cannot express how much I appreciate and love Dr. Groner and her entire staff! When my Max got sick (and nearly died) they worked tirelessly to to save him. When my girl Kyla went into renal failure (possibly poisoned) Dr. Groner and staffed again did everything they could to save my girl. Unfortunately, she didn't make it and had to be euthanized December 18, 2013. Not only did I grieve, but everyone did. They offered hugs, tears and kind words. There is no way to really thank them for everything they did for my Ky girl. I recommend Woodland Animal Hospital to everyone!!! Thank you so much Alice, Deanna, April, Jessica… and everyone else (sorry I'm terrible with names). If you are an animal lover, take your pet to a staff that TRULY loves animals.

I've associated with a few vets over many years of pet-owning, and Alice Groner is by far the best I've ever known. She and her staff run a clean and professional operation; they are gentle and careful with the animals; and they have treated my animals on numerous occasions with 100% success. Dr. Groner, in particular, is very accessible and personable, readily answers all questions in a way any lay person can understand, but most of all, it's clear to me that she cares deeply about animals and does everything in her power to prevent them from suffering--and she works with people who feel the same. About five years ago we had an elderly cat who was dying from a cancerous tumor in his throat. We had left him overnight at Woodland for observation, and it became clear to Dr. Groner that he wasn't going to last the night. Rather than leaving him there alone to die, she took him home with her that night and he passed on in her arms. It takes someone with true compassion to do that, both for the animal and for the client. I'll never willngly entrust my animals anywhere but Woodland Animal Hospital.

After 4 decades as an adult with companion animals, living in several different cities, I have had experiences with many veterinarians, Dr. Alice Groner and her staff are the best I've ever had. The first time I visited, I observed that the staff seem positive. They seem to be happy, and they seem to love the critters who visit. That creates a positive environment for us people and our animals. I have told people that Dr. Groner doesn't just practice veterinary medicine; she practices it as a ministry. I've never had a vet who takes such loving care of her animals and her people. I'll second what others wrote here. Dr. Groner and her staff are competent, compassionate, caring, and patient. They have cared for my healthy cats. They have also cared for my elderly cats with a sensitivity that leaves me speechless. Like "Anna" [below], I have seen Dr. Groner's staff save one of my cats when all the odds said the cat would have died. If I grow desperately ill ... or if I am facing my own death ... I only hope I will have a doctor who is as compassionate as Dr. Groner.

I became aware of Dr. Groner and Woodland via a recommendation from a friend. It was some of the best advice I've ever gotten! I've been using them for about 10 years now and wouldn't consider going elsewhere. And anytime anyone asks me for a recommendation for a vet I send them there and they are invariably delighted with the experience. These folks are always professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. They listen to your concerns and don't treat you like you're an idiot. Their concern for the animals is so obvious. It's not often one feels like a doctor is a friend, but that's the way I feel about Alice Groner and the staff at Woodland. The folks at Woodland have helped us with some difficult situations with our cats. Dr. Groner earned my undying loyalty when she took my ailing 17-yr old cat home with her rather than leave him at the facility overnight. When it became obvious that he wasn't going to make it, she made his passing as comfortable as possible. One of my current brood is a rather prickly and wicked creature who most vets would likely tell me to take elsewhere. I'm not sure what they say behind my back, but they always make us feel welcome when we bring the monster in! I recently had occassion to meet Dr. Smith. I just want to say that she is also a delight and very good! When I took my problem child in I was reticent to have anyone but Dr. G deal with him, but Dr. S quickly put my fears to rest with her knowledge and professional skills and demeanor. She, like Dr. Groner, even called me up a few days later to see how he was doing! I'm curious about the negative review below. It tells us absolutely nothing about the individual's reason for not taking her pet to Woodland. That makes it worth less than the electrons used to image the little hit piece on screen.

Suffice to say that I will never again take a dog to Dr. Alice Groner at Woodland Animal Hospital.
