We took our dog there to have tail surgery, because they had the best price and we heard good things about them. I don't know who did the surgery, but the stitches were horribly done and he pulled them right out. I took him back and Dr. Schildknecht re-stitched him beautifully. The cost however was offset by the staph infection he picked up there and the meds I had to get for it.

We have been taking our pets to Twin Pines for years. The have always been so helpful and honest about prognosis for our sick animals, never making us feel like we should try expensive therapies if it wasn't in the best interest of the animal. The are always so compassionate when hard decisions have to be made. The clinic is clean and the waiting room is big so you don't have to sit right next to someone if your pet is anti-social!

I actually live in Kansas City, and have driven up to St. Joseph because I love the vet there. Dr. Scheltknecht(I hope I spelled that right) makes me and my dog feel very comfortable. I have been to other vets, but this well maintained clinic along with the service i get from the vets has been outstanding. Thus, a year later I continue to drive to Twin Pines for all my needs, unless an emergency of course.
