Yesterday I had to put my elderly dog to sleep. My current vet was not available and called Grant Avenue Pet Hospital and they said to head their way. I am so THANKFUL for the compassion all of the staff. From the receptionist to the Vet, I appreciate the service myself and my four- legged friend received. I will be switching my dogs to Grant Avenue.

My elderly parents have been taking their dogs to Grant Avenue Pet Hospital since the 1970s. They have generally had good service from the staff there. However, they took their dog yesterday to Dr. Rund, and he was rude and impatient with them. After all their years of being a faithful customer, and the fact that they are senior citizens, I really find this treatment unacceptable. They are very kind people who never mistreat anyone. They won't be returning.

The people at Grant Avenue are especially friendly and understanding. When our oldest dog passed, they were comforting to me, my mother and Ruthie. When we have come in to get our dogs vaccinated or give them any check ups, the wait was nonexistent and we came right in and right out with no conflict. It is also very affordable at Grant Avenue and the place has a nice atmosphere. I definitely recommend this pet hospital to any pet-owner looking for the best care for their animals!

This morning I picked up a stray cat I was having neutered at SAAF House. The girl informed me the cat had tape worms, so I headed over to Grant for wormer. I was surprised to see it was over $16 to worm one cat for one type of worm, and realized I didn't have enough cash. I had left my bank card at home. I was 75 cents short of the cost. I've been going to Grant for over 10 years, and have had many animals treated there over the years, but even though I have a huge file, and have been a good and steady customer, I couldn't be trusted for the 75 cents. I should mention Dr. Rund wasn't in the office. I'm sure he would have waved me through. The receptionist was absolutely devoid of personality, and basically never even asked anyone else in authority if I could have the 75 cent credit. I stood there like an idiot for 15 minutes; being ignored. Finally, I told them to forget about it; I would get it somewhere else. I've really never been treated so badly. The first thing to greet me when I walk in the front office was a sign on their receiving desk 'must pay for service before picking up animal' The sign is as big as my purse, and sits in the very center of the counter. This tells me, that getting the money is more important than anything else. It's a nasty way to greet a customer. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Grant Avenue Pet Hospital is owned by the same corporation as Bradford Park. The family pets have used BP for many years but I made a decision to switch to GAPH because of BP's front desk. Not just one bad experience, but several. GAPH, while somewhat out of the way, is easy access, staff always helpful, and no hassle if there is a pet problem which needs seen today.
