Even after reading mixed reviews, we decided to take our mini dachshund here because one of the vets also owned one. We arrived early per their request as we were first timers. The front desk was pleasant but after we inquired if the doctor was running late, the receptionist replied... "I guess so". We were just about to leave after waiting 30 minutes and the technician came to get us. We went in and she asked us a few questions and asked if our dog was the only one in the family and we sadly told her that our 17 1/2 cairn terrier was recently killed by a fox. Her reply was - "Wow, 17 1/2 and to be taken out like that. That's AWESOME" with a huge smile. My partner and I looked at each other with stunned looks on our faces. After she left the room, we walked out front to retrieve her records and leave. We asked to speak to the office manager and she was not in... we still have not received a call. I think they need to train their people to be a bit more sensitive to their clients and especially to new clients.

WORST UNPROFESSIONAL VETERINARY OFFICE EVER !!!! OVERCHARGE AND ARE INACCURATE . I just took a stool sample there not too long ago and they said no parasite, however a day later I noticed my new dog had what looked like dried rice where she sleeps. I called the Amherst Vet office back that day and they said it was evidence of parasites and now we have to buy pills to give her to kill the parasites, so.... why was the stool test negative, Did you even really test it or just sat around in the back room doing nothing!!!! I called today and they wanted me to bring in another stool sample to make sure the medication worked and they wanted to charge me for another stool sample 22 dollars FOR WHAT !!! You were wrong the first time and now you want me to pay you more money. They only care about money not the animals well being . Last time I go there and the receptionist was like oh well bye , didn't even care if she lost our business and I have two dogs that go there .

Way overpriced. I probably shouldn't write a review with peeved I am right now. On the suspicion of being taken for a ride, I just finished intensely discussing the situation with two other hospitals. Keep in mind this is for THE SAME THING, not different approaches or attempts, same procedures. One was 80% less and the other was 40% less. Night and day. Also, after giving me a ranged estimate, they managed to go over the high part, and still expected me to cover it. Poor, poor business. The customer service is nice enough, but the PRICES ARE ABSURD!
