This place scares me from the pit of my stomach. My first experience was a couple of years ago. The "surgical repair" had to be repaired again. They overdosed my dog's prescription. This time, I brought my 2 year old Golden mix in; he had been attacked by another dog. He was bleeding profusely. They put me in room by myself. No one kept me in the loop. I was a mess. After I wandered in the back to see what was going on, I was reprimanded by the vet. My spouse showed up while they were asking questions about the other dog. He told them he had the name of the owner. He went home, called it in to me only to have them tell me that "they don't get involved." WAIT! I didn't ask them to get involved! They asked ME for the information! When the vet finally got to me, I told him I didn't think the left hand knew what the right hand was doing. He agreed. :-( In addition, while I was waiting, I had to endure listening to the receptionist on the other side of the door pontificate about how great pit bulls are to another customer (my dog was just attacked by a pit bull...btw I'm not judging pits...I love them...this was just a terrible accident). Nonetheless, show some sensitivity. To top it off, I paid $40 for them to bandage my dog's ear. The bandage was a monstrosity. It looked like it weighed about 5 lbs, about 6" long. I had no choice but to go there because my dog was bleeding profusely. If given a choice, I would have gone to Manchester. In years past, I've even had another vet tell me that he will not refer to this hospital. That's telling.
Only go to them if you have the cash on hand or they will refuse to see your animal. So much for being an emergency center.
Djinks- those are two completely separate hospitals, you can't go to any hospital and expect them to refill a medication without a script. Any medication a doctor refills goes on their license. If the original doctor had dosed something incorrectly or if your pet was diagnosed incorrectly and a doctor refills your medication without your pet ever examined by the doctor at this new hospital that has no relationship with your animal then the doctor who refilled it can get in serious trouble. It is completely necessary! Medication is not candy! The staff at this hospital care more about your pet than you do about an exam fee obviously!
