After reading some of the reviews on here, I decided that I really needed to write my own and explain the experience that I have had with Nashua Pet Care Clinic and Dr. Phenix. My fiancé and I had to take my chameleon, Merlin, to their clinic because his eyes were bulging out. I have always thought of my pets as my family and was extremely upset because he was so sick. Dr. Phenix and his staff were completely helpful and very very caring. I cannot explain how comforting they were. Dr. Phenix explained to us that the bulging was being caused by a cyst. He did laser surgery twice on Merlin, gave him medication, gave us information on how to get his strength back, etc. Merlin recovered well after visiting with Dr.Phenix. I continued to see Dr.Phenix for checkups and if I ever had problem with anything. Every time that I was there I was treated like family. I was always greeted and after leaving I always felt that Merlin was in the best of care. Last week Merlin stopped eating and moving around. I took him into Dr. Phenix and faced the hard news that Merlin had to be put down. Dr. Phenix gave me two choices in that moment. He said that I could put Merlin down or I could give Merlin to him. He said that that way he would be taken care of and if he got better then he wouldn’t have any room for him, so he would have to be given back to us. Dr. Phenix told us that there was only about a 4%-5% chance that Merlin would make it but he would try his best. I don’t know many vets or people for that matter that would do something like this for someone. I just couldn’t believe it. After talking with my fiancé we decided that we didn’t want to put Merlin through anything else with such a small chance to make it. Dr. Phenix did an autopsy afterwards and told us that Merlin had a bad heart, liver, and colon. There would have been nothing that he could have done. After everything that we went through there with Merlin, it just proved to me that Dr.Phenix and his team are amazing people. They truly care about you and your animals. I have read a lot of reviews on Nashua Pet Care Clinic and was surprised by all of the complaints about how much money they charge. I have always thought of my animals as family as I mentioned before and have come to understand that animals are expensive. I found their prices to be reasonable for everything that they did and they did a lot for Merlin. When Merlin had his laser surgery I thought that it was going to be extremely expensive; it in fact turned out to be way cheaper. They even take CareCredit if you can’t pay out of pocket and will help you get the card right there in their office. They are a busy office and I have learned that that is because of the care they offer. Merlin was like my child to me and for me I would have spent my last penny on anything that would help him. So I guess what I’m trying to say here is that yes vet bills are expensive, just like any other doctor bill that you would pay, but I found here to be reasonable in my opinion and it to be the best place that would make sure Merlin was taken care of. I could never express or explain everything that we went through and how amazing they really were to us. I owe a lot to Dr. Phenix and his staff for the amazing care and comfort that they gave to Merlin and to us.

Care was excellent, staff was pleasant, but way too many unnecessary, unexpected charges and overcharges every visit. We had to switch vets to try and find someone more reasonable.
