VECC is a first-rate emergency medical facility for animals, and in the event of an emergency anywhere close to the Seacoast area, it should be your number 1 choice. I have been bringing my pets to VECC for close to 10 years now, mostly for not-so-critical issues (that, naturally, occur over the weekend). This weekend, the issue was critical and ended with my doggie passing. The veterinarian and techs did everything they could - everything - to treat my boy. In the end, no one could have done anything more or anything better to save him. When this became clear, the vet was very honest with me about what she would do if it were her doggie. We made the decision together, and it was very clear that she and the techs were emotionally affected by it, as well. In other words, your pet will become theirs as they treat it. And they will offer all treatment with the deepest compassion AND professionalism as anyone in the business. I would trust the staff at VECC with the lives of any of my animals - already have.

Today (11/25/14) I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Keith Montgomery who is the veterinary ophthalmologist at Southern New Hampshire Veterinary Referral Hospital and the Veterinary Emergency Critical Care & Referral Center. My 8 year old Westie Patrick will be having cataracts removal surgery performed by Dr. Montgomery on 12/03, I have implicit trust in his capability. I have known Dr. Lee Garrod and some of her staff for many years now and many of my dogs have experienced great care at VECC when needed. I highly recommend this practice !! :-)

My sister's little pomapoo was stung by a bee in July, and the site of the sting was swelling. They answered the phone immediately when I called. As soon as we arrived, they immediately took the dog for a Benadryl shot; they didn't even make us wait for my sister to finish filling out paperwork. This is a large facility with a big treatment area and many exam rooms. The place has a homey feel, including a waiting area with toys and games for kids. Everyone was very polite and helpful, and the vet seemed knowledgeable. They asked us to stay after the shot to make sure the dog was okay, and they checked in on her a couple of times. They answered all our questions too. A couple months ago, I took my cat to them for blood in her urine, and they gave her the same high quality of care. I just wish this place were closer. my little girl gretchen,has been treated for intestinal,kidney liver,heart,back,blood press. disorders in the past year.every time i bring her in she is treated with incredible loving care,one time she needed to stay a couple of days,i asked if they would give her spring water and they did!!i would say this wonderfull success story would be because whatever illness it is your there for they have a specific expert dr. for that field.we love all of them!!

Thanks for the call-back, Cindy...NOT! By the way, don't get so defensive and personal with someone who is calling to ask you about your surgeons and their qualifications. When I ask about the number of years of experience, don't tell me that the DVM (who is not board certified) just recently operated on your cat and the the DVM has years of experience. Be specific and LESS personal and antagonistic to the caller. I'm glad that I went to another "Referral Hospital."
