Very positive and accommodating. New clients are greeted at the door and a picture is taken of your pet, which is presented to you in a lovely frame, to take home. How can you not love an animal hospital that is staffed 24/7 and provides grooming services and shopping all in one pet-centered facility? The wellness program is unique. I don't believe I have heard of this in any other animal hospital. The wait-time is short. In the previous facility where I was taking my dog, I waited as long as an hour to see the vet. I'm very happy I switched and would highly recommend Newton Veterinary Hospital.
Our little Jessica needed to be boarded at Newton Vet. We dropped her off smiling and we picked her up smiling. The staff at Newton Vet is wonderful and our little dog enjoys her stay there. The staff is attentive and filled with animal lovers. It is comforting to know when going away and boarding your animal that your beloved pet is in good hands. Theresa Y
I took my little poodle, Jaime, to their 24/7 medical boarding and they did nothing to save her. She was a special needs dog who needed extra care and when she stopped eating and drinking did nothing to help her. They have 9 vets on staff and no one ever looked at her to see that she was dehydrated. Every day i called while i was away and they told me she was fine. She lost over 1 lb., 20% of her body weight! Two days before I picked her up they admitted that she stopped eating her special food and they gave her other food. She then started with diarrhea and had it for 3 more days until I picked her up. She could not stand up at all and just laid there. She didn't even know I returned. She was so bad I took her to my regular vet who was shocked at her condition. He hospitalized her for 1 night and brought her home. She deteriorated so badly we had to put her down. It was gross neglect.
My animals have been treated at NVH for at least twenty years. The care given has always been excellent, and the staff shows true concern for the well-being of my pets. The fact that they maintain an animal Blood Bank is wonderful, and I am honored to have been a participant in this program. I think one of the better ideas they have has is to have a "Quiet Room" in which one may have a final farewell with one's pet. It is a peaceful room, aimed to create as calm a setting as is possible at such a time. There is also a door leading directly outside, so that one need not go through the waiting area after the ordeal. I am eternally grateful for the service I have received there, and will continue there as long as I have a "Fur Family" to be cared for.
My first experience with Newton Veterinary Hospital was a true emergency at about 7:30am before my regular vet was open. My 8lb Yorkshire Terrier was mauled by an 80lb Shepard mix while I was at the other end of the leash. Certainly the worst day of my life. I brought a huge hunk of fur with me that had been left in the road not knowing whether or not it could be reattached. Minnie was all stitched up across her back, around her neck and down a leg. She needed to spend a few days at the vet and I could come visit her any time 24 hours a day. After she came home I needed to go back for daily bandage changes for a month as she healed. After a month she had a type of skin grafting called Z-plasy. Minnie went on to live another 10 extremely happy years and was one of the greatest loves of our life. Newton Veterinary Hospital saved her life!!! And we will never go to another vet!!! We couldn't possibly have higher praise for their knowledge, compassion and care of our dear little friend.
