As an upcoming zoology major, and a passion for animals, i will NEVER bring my small pets anywhere but Sand Creek. My years and years of researched matched that of my vets, and he was willing to discuss my guinea pigs neuter in depth from the tools and process to the type of anesthetic given. Dr. Matthew McDaniel has been fantastic. I was invited to come in whenever I liked to give my previously fat guinea pig weigh ins. for free. He was also invited to stay over night for free due to my school schedule and that I was unable to bring him in the morning for his big surgery. I trust him with my cavy's life and would bring all three of my guinea pigs there. We also will be bringing my hamster and three gerbils in if need be. He educates all his clients and makes sure proper care is given. Im SO HAPPY with all his knowledge and research. So many vets and owners are not up to date on small animal care-and im glad to say this vet is the exception! I also just want to add that all the receptionist have been so patient with my constant emails and calls and my random visits :) they have all been WONDERFUL.
My friend of 17 years, a cat named Roo, was sick. He passed away. I can't accurately articulate the amount of care and love they gave him. I will be forever grateful his last few hours were with his family and such caring people.
I've read the other reviews on Google and I can tell you, I couldn't disagree more. We got two new puppies (our first) this year and between the multiple vaccination visits, one of our pups needing some pretty invasive surgery for his brachycephalic syndrome, and the numerous follow up visits, Dr. McDaniels and his entire staff have been more than accommodating to these two new puppy parents. From when we called with frantic worries with our first reverse sneeze (horrifying, but totally normal) to coming in with strange questions about poo, everyone we have encountered has been patient, absolute dolls to our pups, and truly seeks to educate us as pet owners. Today we went over the estimate for the surgery to help our little one breathe better and Ryan took the time to explain each and every line of the estimate in detail. This is AFTER Dr. McDaniel took 25 minutes explaining each step of the surgery and showing us pictures from other surgeries so we could understand. My husband and I have no children so our pups are our kids and if someone wants to nickel and dime over the care for their pet, that's their business. We understand there is an expense for KNOWING our furry kids are in good hands and are willing to pay a fair price for top quality care. In one visit, you and your pet will KNOW you are in the right place at Sand Creek Animal Hospital.
The staff here is unreasonable and ridiculous in various aspects. After asking for pricing information on a surgical procedure, I had a few questions about where the $3,000 cost was coming from. After picking out the unnecessary services included with an amputation, I had asked them what the final cost would be. Following this inquiry, "Kathy", the receptionist/saleswoman started to ask very close ended questions to determine whether or not I would be paying them $3,000. As soon as I had said "that seems like a bit much compared to other local vets", she had already started her sentence of "Well if you're not interested in having that service done here then take care." and then she hung up on me. I would not recommend getting any type of service done through this facility. They have an unfriendly staff that push ridiculous rates for simply procedures! Two thumbs, WAY DOWN.
I have been going to Sand Creek Animal Hospital for 5 years. It would seem if you have been going there for that long that you would receive a fair price for having your dogs ears plucked. Well, to me over $430.00 for that just doesn't seem fair. It was even more than the estimate they gave us too! They also wanted to do ear surgery for a lump that was in his ear that would cost over $900.00! The lump was gone after 5 days by itself! I am looking for a new vet.
