Stay away at all costs. Actually, cost is one of the reasons to stay away but not the main reason. "Dr." Donovan is not equipped to handle anything outside of routine care. I actually went so far as to file complaints against them but, unfortunately, pets are considered "property" so there is very little a pet owner can do when a vet is negligent. I read on Facebook recently that a friend of mine had a very similar situation at Blue Cross with a cat. The staff there is great - always very accommodating.....the doctors there are ill-equipped. Do your pet a favor and go somewhere else.
They a have taken care of all 3 of my ST Bernards And have done an excelent job with thier care.
We have been customers of Blue Cross for our pets for over 20 years. The staff and vets have been great with all of our pets. When we moved out of state, they helped us to find a vet in our new area that could treat our cat with hypothyroidism, so her care wouldn't be interrupted. When we moved back and needed a vet again for our newest family member, we returned back to Blue Cross. We were pleasantly surprised that the bill wasn't as much as we thought it would be. We know what our vet in Indiana would have charged, and the bill Blue Cross charged us was almost half of that. Those that are commenting here about the cost of pet meds obviously didn't know they could ask for a script and fill it elsewhere if they thought the cost was excessive.
I made an appointment with the Blue Cross Animal Hospital, the receptionist I got was down right rude and disrespectful. I ended up going to my appointment against my wife's better judgement. The same receptionist was still rude to myself as well as several other customers in the waiting room. She over charge me and another gentleman and refused to refund us, until we asked to speak with someone in charge. She bossed around several other employee's and continued to gossip about several of the vet's in the practice. Over all, very unprofessional. Thankfully the Dr. did a wonderful job but my wife and I make sure to make appointments on day's that we do not have to deal with such a rude receptionist.
I have been going to the Blue Cross Animal Hospital for years for my dogs and cats. Any time I have brought them in, I have always felt that my pets were in the best of hands. The bed side manner, willingness to help, professionalism, and sheer dedication of the doctos and staff never ceases to amaze me. I highly recommend them for any of your pet care needs,
