Short Version: Dr. Aguirre was rude and disrespectful and didn't seem to like cats or problems that need him to get his gloves dirty. Long Version: It was already a bad day when my furry cat friend needed urgent care. First the receptionist was unpleasant and scowling. Normally I would let that go if the care was good (though in a time of crisis it was really awful). I arrived a little less than an hour before closing. Dr. Aguirre was cold and curt and clearly did not want to deal with my pet. With disdain he said they were closing soon and to take my beloved friend to an emergency place because he said it would take too long for treatment and he wanted to close on time. While waiting for him to bring my cat back I was talking to a very nice tech. I was worried and scared. She was kind and reassuring, then Dr. Aguirre walked in and literally clapped his hands at me and told me I had to go. I am certain it was only a couple minutes I expressed my concerns to the really nice girl before Dr. Aguirre was so totally rude, disrespectful and completely unempathetic to me and my furry friend. My pet and I were not to his liking. If he doesn't care about the animals or the people who love them and if they don't fit his "likeable" profile, then he shouldn't be in the vet business. Not only did he not provide service, he was rude about it. I was only polite to him. Anyway, as I was paying for the "service" there was a cute young dog there that he and the receptionist had plenty of time and affection for. The great news is that I went to the Animal Emergency Service in Selden and not only was the receptionist wonderful and helpful, but the vet and techs were informative and kind and helped my sweet pet to heal (and it didn't even take that long). So, don't go to Coram animal clinic unless you and your dog are perfect and don't mind a little abuse.
