We have taken our animals (2 dogs and 2 cats) there for about 5 yrs and have always received top notch care and service. We've always had a very good experience there, and they tend to be more conservative and compassionate when ordering tests and treatments than our old vetrinarian. When we realized there was something wrong with our cat's tooth, they got us right in and took care of the problem. We are thankful to have them so close by, and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a vetrinarian.
I've been bringing my animals to GNAH for the past 20 years and can only rave about them. I'm a cat rescuer and have plenty experience from other animal hospitals for comparison. PROS: * They are open 7 days a week and there is rarely a wait. * The doctors are EXCELLENT diagnosticians and healers. * The doctors confer with each other over unusual cases. They foster a team approach and it's resulted in wonderful healing outcomes for many of my animals. * They do NOT order excessive tests and inflate the bill. There have been countless times when I've asked for bloodwork or xrays and they told me I would be throwing away my money. * They welcome feral cats and they provide the same great care that they would give sweet fluffy! They also give cats a chance to see if they can be handled before sedating a feral cat for examination. It's uncanny how often they have been successful with handling cats that I can't touch at home. * Special mention about Dr. Rind. He is an amazing diagnostician. I've often asked for his "hunch" with regard to diagnosis or prognosis and to date, he's been 100% accurate. He also is the owner of the practice and has been VERY generous in every way to rescuers over the years. * I've found the staff to be especially caring and compassionate... from the reception staff to the technicians to the veterinarians. * Special mention about their technicians... they don't use brute force to hold animals... they tend to practice the idea that "less is more" and have a light touch unless more is needed. These technicians tend to be very knowledgeable and caring. * They (everyone at this amazing facility) have made countless accommodations for my unusual requests and needs as a rescuer. They have been beyond generous and have saved the lives of countless animals that I have brought to them. Some have been quite challenging and they have met the challenges with grace and skill and compassion consistently through the years. * I guess it's clear that I HIGHLY recommend this hospital. CONS: * The facility could use some modernizing... especially the boarding facilities. However, as someone mentioned previously, the quality of care is clearly more important. * The fees appear to be consistent with the area. They are higher than some other places in Queens, but the quality of care is worth the few extra dollars.
