Cayuga Pet Hospital has an exceptional staff. Dr. Tornusciolo is a consummate professional, and despite my dog generally being very tense and defensive around strangers, he is completely comfortable and even affectionate with her. She has a confident demeanor and calming energy that keeps my dog relaxed even when undergoing unpleasant procedures. Even more importantly, she is incredibly knowledgeable, and keeps me informed throughout the process. She provides the most comprehensive care while keeping the total cost in consideration. Veterinary care is always somewhat expensive, but I've never left feeling blind-sided by the bill, or pressured into costly tests/treatments that I wasn't sure were necessary. The office has even squeezed an appointment in for me on the same day when I was in a bind and Dr. Tornusciolo graciously worked through her lunch break when the case became a little more time-consuming than we expected. I recently moved to NYC but after trying another vet and witnessing the difference in the level of care my dog gets there (and the number of fees tacked on for services they only half provide), I bring him back to Ithaca with me to visit Cayuga Pet Hospital.
I've been going to this vet for about a year now, and have nothing but praise for them. The staff are friendly and personable and the doctors seem very knowledgeable and competent. They haven't tried to push any expensive services for my cats, just the basic exams and vaccinations. Further, the one time one of kittens had a medical issue crop up (infected eye), I was able to talk to a doctor right away, outside of business hours, and set up an appointment for the next day without any trouble. Finally, they're a small practice, and when I was going there about once a month, when my kittens were getting their initial series of vaccinations, the staff and doctors remembered both me and my pets, which was a very nice feeling.
Dr Muffoletto is outstanding. Absolutely exceptional. I live in Vestal and take my pets to Cayuga Pet hospital, one hour drive, yes, but worth it. All the staff is very good and I have been going there since 2000.
I had to bring my cat in today to be put to sleep. The staff and Dr. Dawn were very very kind and made what was a terrible time for me much less terrible. They were so caring of my pet and my mental state. I would highly recommend their care.
We found this pet hospital based on reviews we read online and are very happy.
