Dr. Dougherty helped us navigate the last 1 1/2 years of one of my girls with renal failure and helped us ease our ancient 21 1/2 year old girl through her last days with dignity and compassion. He is always on the end of the line for anxious questions and works within what is reasonable and necessary for top care. The ultimate recommendation I can give him and the Cat Practice is that we just got 2 new kittens and (even with all of the vets in NYC) I want them only treated at The Cat Practice!

I’m taking the time to write a review because I’m so impressed by The Cat Practice’s boarding facilities. This morning I picked up my “baby” after four days at this place and he looks better than when I brought him in. He’s almost 15 years old, and when I’ve boarded and picked him up from other vets, he was nervous and upset and it took him almost a day to “recover.” But today he looked totally content and he’s his normal self now. (I think it’s because there were only cats there so he wasn’t distressed by the presence of dogs and all their barking.) Also I liked the fact that they kept detailed notes about him every day and that Dr. Dougherty took the time to check on my him before we left. I’m going to use this vet from now on and I’m so relieved that I found a good place for boarding.

My wife and I went in at about 6 PM today (Thursday) and I found the staff to still be very energetic, very friendly and very helpful. The place has an at-home atmosphere without compromising the feeling of professional and quality service. Dr. Eric Dougherty did an excellent job in taking care of our cat. He was very friendly, engaging, and inspired confidence. On top of all the great care my cat received, the bill was incredibly reasonable. This was our first vet visit in NYC and I think we stumbled onto the best place possible. We'll definitely be going back for further veterinary needs.
