These folks just moved into a new office a week ago, so I can't really speak for their facilities (blank walls, rooms with just a single chair and a pet table). I'm not sure how high their appeal is but from some of the other reviews they seemed like an okay place to go. The service by Dr. K was good. You can tell he really loves animals and he treated mine like his own (I was there to get my dog a rabies vaccine). The only thing to really mention that was out of the ordinary was the request for my driver's license number and SSN on the sheet they had me fill out. I thought this was terribly odd for a Vet to ask for and questioned the receptionist about it. All she could say was "It's for billing purposes and you have to give us one or the other or we can't see your dog." I questioned this again and the other receptionist said if I'm paying with cash I don't have to give either. Then, out of nowhere, Dr. K comes out and explains that it's all protected under HIPPA and I need to give him one or the other. There was no real explanation of WHY I needed to give this information, but I decided to give my license number as that's less personal and probably less potentially damaging. It's still not clear why this was needed.
I don't know what universe this place is operating under, but they are NOT cat/kitty compassionate AT ALL!!! I just hung up the phone with the receptionist, deciding to make an appointment some place else. Reason being- they accept a free examination voucher from the shelter I adopted my cat LOKI from- BUT- I will be charged for the visit if my animal is sick! And I believe my pet has an upper resp. infection. So, even if (as this sweet woman explained- as sweet as an abscessed tooth) I had just made the appointment without expressing my concerns, and THEY discovered he was ill...I would be charged! Completely asinine! I even pleaded that I was low on funds at the moment and knew I would have to pay for medications, and that my kitty couldn't wait until Friday (my payday). Didn't matter. SHE DIDN'T CARE! It's all about the money with this place- not the animal.
I have been taking my cats and dogs there for checkups and shots and neuter/ spay since 2009. I never had a problem. I think it is best to stick with one animal hospital.
Committed to cats... my cat was sick and I couldn't afford treatment; rather than euthanizing, they offered to adopt my cat!
Dr K and his staff are great. My first visit there was with a very sick cat. They were so kind, both to me and to her. When I was bawling my eyes out at the decision to euthanize my baby girl, Dr K teared up too. He had only just met us, but was incredibly compassionate. It's very clear that Dr K and his staff love animals. The prices there are very reasonable, but that is a distant second reason to go to Ardda. The first reason is that they consider my cats family, just as I do.
