I have a bird, a green cheek conure, I take there, and I am very pleased with Dr. Balonek's care. I have taken her there for 3 "annual exams" since I first got her and I am very pleased with the care of the bird and information he gives me during the exam and visit. I know he has been dealing w/ birds for years and has a lot of experience and knowledge, and the fact that he has a bird himself, and not just treats them, is also a plus for me. I would recommend him to anyone who has a bird. I also enjoy the interaction the bird has w/ some of the staff members. That also makes it a fun visit for the bird. The only drawback there is an issue with waiting, and some people get irritated. As for me, I know my bird will be taken care of and I will enjoy the visit, so I just plan ahead for some wait time and bring something to read. I usually enjoy some conversation w/ people around me, as they are usually surprised to see a colorful little bird, and her watching the pets around.
Start with the good: The vets are great, as are the techs and staff as a whole. Nice people and their pricing is one of, if not the, best in the area. Very versatile as well. The bad: It's just so busy there. I'm always put on hold for long amounts of time when calling. While you are there, waiting times vary. It's a 50/50 shot whether you'll be seen in a timely fashion or wait a long time. Now, if it's an emergency... yes they get right to you. The place feels like it needs to be expanded, both in size and in staff. I recommend them based on pricing and the vets. If you really want excellent customer service, this place is far from the worst but needs improvement. Thus 3 stars and not higher.
By far the best vet we have seen in Rochester NY. Took his time talking to us, discussing options and choose the best treatment plan for our dog. They are very experienced in Giant Breed Dogs. It is a very busy vet office, typically long waits in the waiting room, however, the table side manner of the vet makes up for any type of wait there may be.
Horrible!!!! The worst animal hospital ever. The entire visit took over 2.5 hours. You wait a LOT longer than you are seen. And we were new customers. The Vet techs asked that we lift our 110 pound Newfie on to the scale - they didn't help at all. I strongly suggest you choose another hospital.
I am so impressed with the East Ridge Animal Hospital. A blue Jay flew into my co-workers car on the way to work. We called around to find a Vet that would take wild birds. I spoke with Jamie, she took the bird in right away and he is still doing well. We are so thankful that they took great care of the blue jay. We can't thank you enough. Wonderful people.
