When living in Rochester I took my two dogs for checkups and was pleased with Irondequoit Animal Hospital. It was not until I had a true emergency with my little Boston terrier that I truly appreciated their phenomenal service. On a Saturday, fully booked with appointments my dog was squeezed in for xrays and diagnosed with a possible obstruction. I was counseled on my options (surgery or medical management), fully informed of prices, and finally I asked 'if it was your dog what would you do?" They recommended surgery. I trusted their professional judgement and rather then waiting they skipped their lunch and performed the 2.5 hour surgery. I was updated throughout the procedure on his prognosis which was not good as his obstruction had perforated his intestines. I was given every option and price point yet again and I decided to continue with the surgery despite the odds. Post surgery he was sent to a 24/hour animal hospital where after a week of treatment he recovered. I fully credit Irondequoit animal hospital for saving my dog's life. They could have told me they were booked for Saturday, they could have told me they were too busy to perform surgery, they could have said lets wait until Monday. They did not. They did what they would have done for their own animal (and did it well!) and I can't thank them enough. I have my Boston Terrier home and it's because of their skill and compassion.

We have been coming here for a little over a year because their spay/neuter prices were some of the lowest we found. You get what you pay for. We waited to be seen for 30 minutes to an hour at most appointments, and at our most recent appointment were turned away for being 10 minutes late due to circumstances beyond our control! No compassion for customers, little time spent with the pets themselves. Then, after your appointment, you wait another 20 minutes just to check out. A 15 minute vet visit typically takes almost 2 hours when all is said and done. Finding a new vet ASAP. Don't waste your time here.

Dr. Cacia is GREAT! Having been to just about every Animal Hospital in the area, I am so pleased to have found a knowledgeable and courteous vet who doesn’t treat me like I’m an idiot. I have not interacted with any of the other vets, so I cannot provide feedback on them. The staff (assistants, techs, etc.) is always courteous and seems to sincerely want to help, which is a far cry from what I have experienced elsewhere. The facilities are well maintained. As mentioned by some of the other reviewers, they are part of the same ‘network’ as most of the other Animal Hospitals in the area. Inherently, the prices are just about the same as anywhere else, but the delivery of service is so much better in my opinion. Highly recommended based on my experiences thus far.

I feel very comfortable taking my pets to IAH. They are kind and considerate of my dog's nervousness, and do their best to accommodate his needs. The doctors are also very good with me, explaining any treatment needed, and answering all my questions. When I let them know that money is an issue, they are very understanding and work to determine which tests or treatments are most necessary and which can be postponed. I've been bringing my pets here for about 7 years and will continue to do so.

I have been taking all my pets to IAH. Most recently, my yellow labrador Maximus who has dealt with various health issues. Dr. Erica Grzankowski has seen Maximus since he is a puppy. Let me say, that she will explain everything to you. You do not feel that you are rushed. She will call home to ask about Maximus, etc. I cannot say enough. I know that my dog and cats are important to her and also to the staff who is so nice, polite and professional; they will fill up prescriptions right away for your pet. In other words, this place is like friends. Never intimidating always compassionate and understanding. You feel safe that your beloved pets are well cared for and that's all that matters.
