My rating was based on the performance of the facility. I had used other facilities none reaches CVA excellent standard. CVA is a clean and quiet environment. The operating room i which i was surprised but clean. No animal odors like other facilities i have been to. The care for animals is high standard. I like the place which i will continue with this CVA facility at W Merrick Rd Valley Stream. Thank you very much for taking care of Nikko Bravo, CVA of Valley Stream.

I have used them twice and each time felt like I was just robbed! WATCH\SCRUTINIZE YOUR BILL.....UNFORTUNATLEY, they bought my neighborhood vet and after reviewing my most recent bill, and itemizing my bill with them over the phone, I ended up with a credit on file. Gotta find a vet who won't charge me $68 bucks to give my pet 1/8 a bag of fluids when the entire bag itselft only costs $10. My girlfriend lives in Valley Stream and said, when she walked in the door, a woman walked up to her, took her cat from her arms and IMMEDIATLEY put a hospital band around the cats neck before my girlfriend could even ask how much the visit would be....this is call billable hours!

I have been using CVA, particularly Bayside Animal Clinic, for about 2 and a half years, and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. I am always treated with kindness and care when I bring my dog in, no matter the reason. The entire staff remembers his name and greets us both warmly. I have called the office repeatedly, with questions ranging from the mundane to the serious to the inane, and I always get a fast and courteous response. I am beyond satisfied with the care that my min pin recieves. Our particular doctor is Dr. Charos, whom I LOVE!!!!! He is so knowledgable, so thorough, yet so totally laid back and unfazed by how crazy my dog sometimes gets during the examination/treatment. I highly recommend Central Vets and will absolutely continue to use them. I just can't understand anyone who would complain about the service; CVA is filled with caring and knowledgable professionals, in my opinion. As for the price, well...I live in NYC, where absolutely nothing is cheap, and I believe in paying for quality care. Thank you, Dr. Charos, for being the most wonderful vet!!!!!

My Cockatoo had a bloody mass the size of a golf ball. The ASPCA recommended I take my 36 year old Cockatoo to CVA Hospital, so I did. You can imagine how worried I was that my bird may die considering her age, and condition. I just have to say what a great experience I had from the minute I walked in. The service was impeccable, everyone there was so kind and caring. The doctor removed the mass and I am so happy my bird will live. The doctor was compassionate and wonderful. I am so happy I found a great animal hospital who also treats large birds. I highly recommend CVA for all types of pets. Thank you CVA for saving my Cockatoo's life. I also want to thank the ASPCA for a great recommendation.

You pay for quality. I am very fortunate to have found Central Vet as Dr Charos and Defies are wonderful. They are compassionate and understanding. The staff always calls me back when I have any questions or concerns. They are always very kind and even when my mothers cat had to be put down due to diabetes the staff sent a personalized card to her for her loss. I have been to others vets offices in Long Island before where they have given my cats fleas and have groomed my persian and cut up his skin that I could see the pain in his face. So Central Vet works for me and they always accommodate me faster than my own DR. Ok as I have been going through the reviews and I was quiet surprised. I have been going to Valley Stream for many years from 1 cat up to 4 cats. I am curious pet owners, have you ever considered pet insurance? I did not for a long time but I have made the investment this year with the option to cancel at any time. I absolutely adore my pets and would do anything for them. With insurance it would have helped a lot with a lot of those costs as unexpected as they may be at times. After all how many time have we as humans been told to have tests and procedures done that were not necessary. So look at both perspectives before judgement.
