We trusted this vet for years with our dogs and it is one of my biggest regrets. They were my family's vet growing up and I had always known them to be reputable, however when our dog was six he developed bladder stones that the vet repeatedly missed (despite multiple rounds of xrays at our request based on our research, not their guidance) that resulted in a complete obstruction and nearly cost us our dog's life. After having an operation to remove the stones we left Storybook for two years and ultimately, because we had been with them for so long and felt that accidents can happen, decided to return because they had known our pets for so long. This fall our dog became ill again and we took him to Storybook over and over to try to help him. We were told repeatedly that it was simply aging and we questioned them heavily on if it could be another stone issue. We were told over and over that it wouldn't be possible, however after some blood tests eventually came back with elevated kidney levels we insisted on a series of xrays. Note that this was at our insistence, not the advisement of the vet. Just as we'd suspected our dog was full of stones, he had become completely obstructed. We took our poor family member to a new vet who immediately confirmed that the kidney damage that was done to our dog was due to our dog essentially poisoning himself over time due to an inability to get the toxins out of his system because of the stones that Storybook missed. To miss them once would be one thing, however to miss them twice knowing the animal's history (and while being questioned over and over by the pet's parents on if you can look for them specifically) is unacceptable. Our dog died as a result of this mistake. We did everything we could for him in his final days and at one point needed a copy of a previous blood test for our new vet. When we requested this from Storybook we were told that they were too busy to get to it, that they'd have to get back to us. They had so little regard for us, and for our beloved dog, that they never got back to us with it. Never so much as an apology for the miss. I regret ever having taken our dog to this vet more than I could possibly express.
