The vet seemed very knowledgeable, but the prices were extremely high. I ended up taking my pet out immedately after he was admitted. I was charged $175 for the initial diagnosis and about $285 for xrays. He was only there 15 minutes. I took him to Roslyn Greenvale Vet group for drastically reduced pricing.

After visiting other emergency veterinary referral centers in the area, I realized how truly wonderful my experience at Westbury was (and very much worth the 45 minute drive). My dog recently had a splenectomy which was performed by Dr. Savicky. I was so concerned and worried the entire time he was there (approx. 3 days) but the hospital staff was extremely caring and pleasant every time I called to check on him. He was not doing well one night and when I came at 4 am, they let me visit and spend time with him to see that he was ok. They also alerted me that he was not eating and said I could bring him some food to try and get him to eat. I spent over 8 hours in their waiting room and asked to see him at least three times to try and get him to eat and they were so accommodating that you would not even think they had set visiting hours. Dr. Savicky was amazing, he explained everything very well and maintained consistent communication with me, even when I had questions and concerns after my dog was discharged. I was not as thrilled with the doctors I saw when I made an emergency visit but my experience with the front desk staff and Dr. Savicky was more than I could ever have expected. I have also seen one of the Oncology doctors for another pet and thought he was very knowledgeable and helpful as well. I will probably never go to another referral center if I have the option of bringing my dogs to Westbury.
