DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE.... For anything. I have an 8 pound Maltese, who has been sedated twice to be groomed. We took him to have him groomed on June 13th, since he has been acting really funny so we took him to another vet to have him examined. After explaining his symptoms, that vet suggested he has been drugged before he was groomed. I called and spoke with the vet who adamantly denies this ever happening - like he is going to admit to it. They have even called me in the past and asked if they could drug him. Who else should be able to handle an 8 pound toy maltese besides the vet?
When my dogs were well and only need vaccinations, grooming, etc. everything was great. They are flexible with appointment times and were able to see me whenever I wanted to come in, often with only a few minutes notice. When my dog started to develop health problems that needed medicine and routine visits, I had some concerns. I tried to ask questions over the phone, and got a lot of conflicting information, depending on who I talked to. It was nothing major, but the more I spoke up and tried to get straight answers, the more difficult it became. I emailed the vet and told him that I was upset and felt like my dog was not getting the best possible care. I expected that he would look into the situation and try to help me through it and make sure my dog was being cared for appropriately. Instead, I get a response saying, "I have found several discrepensies in what you understood and what reality is." He also said, " I am sorry for your confusion and misgivings." Worst customer service I have ever received from ANY business, EVER.
Our "babies" had been going there for years but NO MORE!! They stressed out our cat during a grooming even AFTER we had given them specific instructions to call us if she was having problems so we could pick her up. But AFTER she was stressed they got her wet and as a result she was so agitated and scared that she would not let them get near her. HOW STUPID DO THEY HAVE TO BE TO WET A CAT AFTER IT HAD ALREADY BEEN UPSET? How incompetent to ignore instructions and not call us after she was initially stressed! NEVER AGAIN! They want your money, they don't love your pets.
I just moved to Yukon and didn't find any reviews on local vets so I wanted to offer one after my dog's visit to Yukon Hills Animal Hospital. The building is really nice and so were the staff. My dog was having non-stop itching so they gave me some cortisone pills for her. The office visit plus meds cost less than $50 so I thought that was reasonable. Also, I called around 8:15 am and they got me in within an hour! While I was checking in, I observed one of the dvms holding a dog/patient. He was stroking it very lovingly. His co-worker was calling the owner and was sure to say that it was not an emergency in her message. It was nice to see how the pets are treated when the owners aren't there. A+!
