Our experience at this Companion location was excellent. During a routine trip to a mobile vaccination clinic, it was discovered that my 3yr. old Pug had three baby teeth that never fell out and needed to be pulled to prevent future problem. I was pretty stressed to hear this, as my whole reason for taking my pup to a "mobile" vaccine clinic is that I'm a broke college student. I panicked at the thought of the price tag for doggy-dentistry, but you know, anything for my fur-baby. So I started by calling the Companion closest to my house. They could not quote me a price over the phone but they did say that I could get my dog seen for a very inexpensive "consultation" that very day. We arrived at fairly plain looking but busy office and were checked in quickly. We were seen by Dr. Alford within about 10 minutes of arrival. I was extremely impressed by the very thorough examination my pug received from Dr. Alford. I mean, we just came in to have his teeth looked at but the vet checked him out so well, we knew nothing would be overlooked. Also, my mom (or Grandma as my pup knows her) decided to tag along with us to the appointment. To put it nicely, my mom likes to be an informed consumer i.e. she always asks a million questions. Dr. Alford was completely patient and took the time to answer each and every one of her questions. He was also very patient with my pup, who hates having his mouth or paws touched in any way. The doctor took his time and was very gentle with him. By the time we left the exam room, I had absolute faith in Dr. Alford's veterinary expertise. When we went to the front desk for the estimate, I just about fainted because the price was so LOW! It was literally one-fifth of what I was expecting :) Even better, they could fit him in for the procedure THAT DAY! I handed him over to an amazingly kind and compassionate nurse (is that what they're called in the veterinary world??) who gently soothed my pup's separation anxiety. A couple of hours later, I came and picked up my morphine-sleepy little boy - no longer with those three bothersome extra teeth. I got easy-to-follow post-procedure care instructions, a very modest bill, and they even took advantage of his morphine-relaxed state and trimmed his nails (which he hates and is normally loathsomely difficult) for FREE! Our experience with Dr. Alford at Companion exceeded expectation at every point. I cannot say enough good about this doctor and his clinic/staff. My pup and I have found his veterinarian for life!

These guys have always been so helpful and affordable. We have many pets and are very pleased with the caring service and low prices.

Coupons and daily deals make this place very affordable. I wouldn't use this vet as my routine vet, though. The employees did not try to make an effort to create any bond with me or my dog. They did have a golden retriever as the office pet, though, who was very cute.

I have done my Internship with DVM Alford and have seen how he treats the patent and the clients. He gives you a straightforward answer and the cheapest treatment you can find. He's staff really know what there doing. Hope you enjoy your trip the Companion Pet Clinic of Clackamas.

First I'd like to remind people that CP clinic are franchised. Dr Alford owns and operates the Clackamas location. We have been taking our pets to Dr. Alford for 15 yrs. We have complete faith in him, with the health of our very loved pets. I will say that last year there was a front office girl that was kind of on the rude side, I have not seen her in there for a long time. We just took our choc lab in to be put down, they were so kind to us. The young assistant was going to take her temp, we stopped him and said no! He said it was what he does with all animals brought in. We stood our ground, we did not want to put her through that, she was old and her time to go. I think he was just inexperienced, that's when you as pet owner speaks up. We love Dr Alford :) He is the Only doctor in this office.
