I took my cat in two days ago when she exhibited signs of heart failure. I had planned to go to a more popular emergency vet, but after calling them, I was told that because the drive would be so long they were afraid that my kitty wouldn't make it. They recommended VCA Northwest which is only a five minute drive from my house and I'm glad they did. When I entered, I was immediately greeted by a receptionist and they took my cat right away. The waiting room was large, airy and very clean. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I was taken to another room and met with a doctor. She explained what they were doing to my kitty and although her illness was very serious, she felt confident she could pull my cat out of this immediate crises but did not know how long it would be before another crises would occur. Because of kitty's age and numerous other health issues I decided to do the kind thing. I knew this moment would be coming but it was a very difficult decision. After making it, the doctor supported me. She was very kind and compassionate. They then moved me to another room which was private and comfortable. A very kind woman came in with the necessary paperwork. She hugged me and sat with me for a while. Then they brought my kitty in and let me spend as much time alone with her as I needed. The person who brought kitty in was also very sympathetic and compassionate. When it was over, I was able to leave the building through a private door and not have to walk through the waiting room. The entire emotional experience was made as easy as an experience like this could be. I will definitely recommend VCA Northwest to all my friends.

Its a little on the pricy side, but hey its a specialist, if you are bringing your pet here you care about them and want only the best like i do :) They are VERY VERY friendly and absolutely will get on your pets level to show them attention, just like you or I would. I also need to say something about how gentle they are, my cat is a decently Timid cat around unfamiliar people, he will run away, or stand his ground (big eyed and bushy tailed); However, here they seem to have magical powers because he is friendly, snoopy, jumps on everything, and is just all around vibrant. They care a lot here about their customers, and the animals!

On Memorial Day, my dog started exhibiting signs of an obstructed bowel and I had to take him in to VCA NW Vet Specialists because the animal hospitals closer to me were closed. I read some reviews and decided this was the best option. I am so happy that we ended up going here. Considering it was a holiday, the wait time was not bad at all. The vet tech, Krista, and Dr. Wycoff were wonderful to us and made a very stressful experience as positive as possible. They were sensitive, professional, and thorough. Though I hope I never need to go back, I would absolutely return in the event of another emergency.

I brought my cat in late on a Friday night. Everyone who worked here was so cheerful and helpful and kind. They were sweet to my cat and all the other animals that I saw come in. It was a fairly busy evening but they made sure we knew we hadn't been forgotten and kept us updated on what was happening. As for treatment they were very straightforward and honest about price and priority levels of certain tests. They were more than happy to take the time to explain his diagnosis as well as any future concerns without being pushy. Overall, very happy with our experience

Funny how just about all of the negative posts about this place somehow relate to $$$....yep, believe it or not this place is a business, not a charity, and if you want your loved one to get treated by trained professionals at 3:00 in the morning it's not going to be free....blood work and x-rays are not cheap. that said, i've taken several of my dogs there over the years - most recently our 16-year old little girl who was puking and crapping blood. They fixed her right up and I was able to take her home the next day. Yep - it cost me an arm and a leg and if I didn't want to spend the money I would have waited until the morning, called in sick to work, and took her to my vet...except she would have died from dehydration by that time, so to me it was money well spent. Thank God this place exists.
