I brought a Feral Cat that had been living on my property in. What was a seemingly minor injury turned into putting her down. They took the time to explain the injury, the depth of it, and why doing this was the "best" option.(somedays there are no best options) The vet and staff were very compassionate. Although I miss my Snuggles the feral cat dearly, the staff was kind and professional.
I have been here twice. Once three years ago when my pugs eye proptosis and last night when the same eye socket became severely swollen and painful. I had a vet appt the next morning, ten hours away but did not want my pug to get worse when she needed antibiotics and was in pain. The staff at the 24 hour emergency was friendly and helpful. The doctor was great, caring and straight to the point with a great plan of care that I agreed with. After we got home, she got a dose of abx and pain medicine. We both were able to sleep well.
last Sunday night I got home from work and my husbands dog couldn’t walk well so I looked all over for a vet that was open at 5:30 pm Sunday but the only one I found was Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin. I called them and was told the office visit was $80.00 so I took Harley in, the vet came in and said she needed to do an X-Ray and pain shot because she was in so much pain. I asked how much that was and she said it would be about $100.00 for that stuff, I agreed and she took Harley out. She came back in about 30 min later to show me the X-Ray and she had taken two X-rays and couldn’t see anything but a full tummy and told me she thought it was her back. I asked why her tummy was so full if she hadn’t eaten in 9 hrs? She said she may have eaten something I need to go make her vomit and she left. I thought they would just give her peroxide but she gave Harley two meds without asking me and charged me $75.00 for that and she didn’t even vomit. She wanted to keep her over night for $500.00 and I said I couldn’t afford that so she said she needs to go to a neurologist and have an MRI. I went out to the waiting room and when my bill was ready they called me up and told me the bill was $354.00 not the $180.00 I had agreed to when I told the vet who had now walked in she said oh sorry and the girl at the desk said the vets don’t always know the price of things. I think this is very wrong they take advantage of people who love their pets. I paid the bill and left.
First Class Place! Small joint but great people. Dog ate a cooked spare rib. Quick X Ray showed the larger pieces, induced vomiting to get it all up quickly and then they showed me the pieces that came out. Good expertise and amazing to have these guys and gals open late at night.
Unfortunately, I have had to use this vet several times. Two of the occasions, were immediately after leaving a Banfield with an incorrect diagnosis (and huge bill). I don't bring this up to bash on Banfield, but to showcase how great this ER Vet is. Each time we would arrive, we would need immediate treatment. They would get the call from Banfield, and by the time we got there, things were already set up and ready to go. There was always some type of procedure needed; sedation, IV fluids, IV med, cardiac monitoring, etc... Every time I would think, "I'm not going to be able to afford whatever they are doing", and every time I left shocked at how low I was charged. It is an ER Vet, you are supposed to be able to afford it. It is in Tualatin, which is an area that could be taken advantage of on prices. Every single time I have been there, I walked out with triple the work done at damn near the same price as my old Vet. They have always been able to match their speed with the emergencies. I've had to wait in the waiting room before, so they could get a worse off pet in first. I've also been the one who got in faster for the same reason. They have never been rude, lifeless, inconsiderate or overreacting, even when a critter takes a snap out of them while stressed. The best thing Banfield every did for us, was to send us to this ER Vet when they were over their head. I've changed Vets since, but even our new one boasts about this place. To save space, I'll end it here. If you have questions about my experience or this ER Vet, feel free to email me. I typically dislike Vets, and their money grubbing up selling. I also can't stand the guilt trips in procedures, over priced lack luster service and the many fake smiling dunces that are up front. Ask me whatever you want, and I will reply. This place is absolutely amazing, and I will never (if possible) take my pets anywhere else in an emergency.
