Dr. Matt is a veterinarian wonder, he cared about my dogs as much as I did. Three years ago he saved the eye of one of my dogs when it was knocked from it's socket. Two years ago he helped me save many of my dogs when parvo was tracked into my home. We worked hand in hand to save our breeding business, I have been a volunteer there ever since. The staff is friendly and courtious and they will try to work with you on costs. I high recommend PVAH and refer everyone looking for a Vet there.

About two years ago I took my Puggle to see the Veternarian here. Initially it was the father that saw him but then the son, Matt, took over his care. "Carlos" was a rescue dog that I adopted and fell in love with. He was a big part of my life and my kids' lives. It was Easter when we discovered he was having difficulty moving his bowels. He was straining very hard and could not move them. When I took him to see Matt, I knew immediately that he was a kind and caring person. He treated Carlos with kindness and took his time in evaluating his health status. He listened to all I had to say and did a full physical and workup. Although Carlos was difficult to diagnose at first, Dr. Matt Stachmus did what he could for Carlos until he felt a second opinion was needed. After a rollercoaster ride of Carlos getting better....then sick....then better...then sick again, they sent me to Dr. Metzger. Dr. Stachmus was concerned and felt Carlos needed testing that could be done by. Dr. Metzger's office. After testing, sadly, Carlos was diagnosed with prostate cancer and maybe 3 months at most to live. Devistated to say the least, we did low dose Chemo and kept Carlos comfortable. I can tell you that there were nights when I was so scared and upset at what Carlos was going through that I called them after office hours, Matt Stachmus always returned my phone calls. He provided love and support to my Carlos anytime we needed him. He was professional, supportive, and treated Carlos with love and kindness. When it was time to take away the pain and suffering Carlos had endured, he peacefully took Carlos and myself into a quiet room and allowed me to hold him as he was put to rest. I still cry just thinking about the moment I had to let him go and Dr. Matt told me he was gone. My eyes wet, my heart in pain......Dr. Matt said "You did the right thing Diana.....take whatever time you need." He gave me and Carlos time together then took him from me still wrapped in his favorite blanket with his favorite toy. God took Carlos home and we had him cremated and ashes were given to us with a beautiful card. I will never forget the kindness and care they gave my precious Carlos. Dr.Matt Stachmus is one of the best people I know and his office is professional and caring. I recommend Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital to all my family and friends. Thank you.

About one year ago I found a kitten while on a walk outside. I asked neighbors around the area that I found the kitten if they knew where he had came from. Their answer had been no he was out crying all day in an empty lot. It was raining and ready to storm so I took the kiteen home with me. I went directly to Petco for formula and found that the kitten was about 3 weeks old. I formula fed the kitten, but something about his bowel movements did not seem normal to me. Being that I never had a pet before I decided to go to this office for evaluation. Upon my arrival I told the receptionist my concerns. Her response was that the kitten was too little to do any blood work. She said he probably has feline leukemia and will die anyways. She literally told me to not invest any more money into the cat because he was going to die. Needless to say I was beside myself. I sought a second opinion and they found that my kitten had coccidia a parasite which can be life threatening if not treated. I had the kitten treated and he is now just over a year old and doing wonderfully. He has had no further complications. He was tested for feline leukemia and this was negative. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. How they handled the situation was heartless and very unprofessional.

Beware, they don't care about your dog. All they care about is their money. My dog is dead.

I want to say they do not have a good bedside manner at all!! I took my healthy year old cat there for shots and to get neutered. The next day I picked him up and took him home I did all the appropriate accommodations so my cat could make a full recovery. After I got home the next day he started acting very weird. He died. Well to say the least me and my children where devastated. So I called there and told the lady who answered the phone that they had done the surgery on my cat and today it died. She got the vet on the phone who claimed my cat had gotten into poison. I then told him that there is no poison out that he could have gotten into. I had 5 kids in my house. I did not ever leave stuff like that out but he continued to blame me. Then I asked my next question I live in the city do not have a yard what do I do with my deceased cats body. He then told me to bring it to him and he would dispose of it. And oh yea there's a $50 charge for that!!! So crying my eyes out I had to pay the vet, that by this time hated, to dispose of my cat, who I loved!!!! I now got another cat who I am about to get neutered and I'm not sure of where I am going but I can tell you where I am not!!!! My animals are part of my family I love them and never again will I ever go to this place!! I also would never recommend this place to ANYONE!!!
