I had to rush my cat, Jeannie, to them late one Sunday night when she started having breathing difficulties. Having never been there before I was a little nervous about taking her to a vet I didn't know but it was the best option for an emergency vet visit. I cannot begin to explain how wonderful everyone was with us. Jeannie was hospitalized but she was fighting a losing battle. Every member of the staff we worked with explained everything thoroughly, gave us multiple options each step of the way and took a step back when it came time to make decisions. They allowed us anytime we wanted to check on Jeannie (which was a lot, she was a well-loved kitty) and just made one of the most awful experiences of losing a pet easier with their outgoing warmth and help. I had total trust in them and felt comfortable leaving Jeannie in their care as she underwent treatment. When it came time to say goodbye to Jeannie they could not have been better with us. Dr. Garner and all of the technicians (I wish I would've wrote their names down) are angels on earth, I cannot begin to thank them enough. Unfortunately with hospitalizing a pet it comes at a monetary cost. Even the initial estimate they provided us seemed extremely extremely reasonable, I dare say cheap. When we realized Jeannie needed additional care and then, sadly, the euthanasia, I didn't think about money until it came time to leave because I knew the cost would go up. I was shocked at the final bill - it was much more inexpensive than I had feared it would be. In short - they're amazing and, like I said, I cannot thank them enough. 2 thumbs up.
Thank you so much for the treatment of my Mastiff Duke on 4.17.14. As an emergency non-patient, I feel like the staff was very informative and took immediate action on our visit. It was a very scary time for us; the staff was not only kind to us, but also took great care of Duke while in their care for 3 days. They saved Duke's life!! Thank you again, I will spread the word about what a great experience we had!
I couldn't have had more kinder people help us ...They immediately took Bailee, my 8 month old collie puppy ..who had been hit by a train :'( ...and got her settled...gave her something to help with her pain and tried to save her life...Unfortunately it was not to be but their compassion sure helped me and my family get through that horrible night..Thank you everyone for all you did and tried to do..I am forever grateful! ...Lynda Balmer, Enon Valley, PA
After reading the previous Google reviews about Rainbow Vet I was a little hesitant to take my new puppy there, much to my delight all of our experiences there have been wonderful! I initially took my puppy, Obi, there for his initial well puppy check up and vaccines. The staff were all pleasant and very caring. I recently had him neutered there and the procedure was top notch and affordable. Again they took wonderful care of him and he healed very fast. I will continue to take him to Rainbow for all his needs.
My mom took her dog to the Rainbow Veterinary Hospital late one evening. It was nice that they were open, however, the quality of their care is highly questionable. The dog ripped the skin off of her back leg and required stitches. After ten days of agony for the dog, my mom took the dog to her personal vet to have the sutures removed (based on direction from Rainbow Vet). When the stitches were removed, the poor dog's legs opened wide up! The sutures did not take. The way they were put in made the skin pucker, instead of laying flat. The dog was still in a lot of pain and she had to get a whole new set of sutures put in at Brady's Run Vet. This cost an additional amount of money. When she tried to contact Rainbow Vet to let them know that their procedure was unsuccessful and caused the dog more distress, more pain, and more confinement they refused to give her back any of the $423 she paid to have this procedure done--that was 100% unsuccessful. It was just as bad as the night she was injured. This is a horrible place to bring your animal. The girls at the front desk were very nice, but the doctor was arrogant and did a horrible job at caring for my mom's dog. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! FIND A DIFFERENT ANIMAL HOSPITAL! THE PROCEDURE WAS UNSUCCESSFUL--A PROCEDURE THAT ONLY REQUIRED STITCHES! (I'm not a vet, but I'm pretty sure that stitching up a dog's leg is one of the most BASIC procedures vets learn in vet school, and should be done successfully!) And the fact that they refuse to refund ANY of the money, I feel is absurd. I understand paying for the doctor's time, but not for a basic procedure that did not work at all! If anything, what they did prolonged the whole process for my mom and the dog. If Rainbow Vet was even willing to refund some of the money, perhaps my mom would not be so angry. But it is the principle. I'm even willing to take down this post if they give her some of her money back. And on top of all this, after telling other people about the experience, no one seemed to be surprised.....what does that tell you??
