I have no idea where such a rating as listed below by RK123 comes from. When dealing with the public, there is always a disgruntled person from time to time. Unfortunately they are the ones who would take the time to "post" their thoughts. Since I 100% do not agree with them, I am posting my very positive opinion of Thoreau Veterinary Hospital. A veterinary hospital is like any other "human" hospital. The more severe the case is (life threatening) they go before "not feeling well" cases. I was also a person who called for an emergency appointment on a Sunday. When my sister and I arrived the vet tech at the desk was very compassionate and helped us immediately. We are from New Jersey and drove the distance to Thoreau because they were the only vet open on a Sunday. Unfortunately my sister's pet had died on the way to Thoreau. The staff at Thoreau displayed extreme compassion and professionalism towards my sister and I who were understandably distraught. We found Thoreau Veterinary Hospital to be an immaculate facility staffed by highly professional and capable staff. We will continue to "make the longer drive" from New Jersey for all our veterinary needs for all of our pets.

Very poor customer service. I made an "emergency" appointment and when I walked in with my dogs at the scheduled time they quickly took me to an exam room and told me that the Vet would be there "shortly". A 1/2 hour later I asked how long it would be and they said "about 10 minutes". Ten minutes later a Vet tech arrived to 'get things started' and I asked when the Vet would arrive. He said he couldn't predict a time. They had no idea of how long it would take for my "emergency". They didn't seem to care that the dogs weren't feeling well. I think they were taking other "emergency" animals ahead of us....so God knows how long it would be. I left and will go to a real emergency clinic. On the plus side, the staff was friendly enough like they knew that it was taking too long .....
