We called in for emergency services on Easter Sunday. I was told that someone would call back in 15 minutes, but I got a return call within 5 minutes and an appointment within 90 minutes. My 6 year old Maltese mix was not a patient there, but the doctors did see him without hesitation. I was told the (reasonable) costs up front, and the costs were just under that amount after our visit. When we arrived, another dog was there with her owner. The other dog actually had an appointment on Easter Sunday when the office was not open. She had surgery recently, and at her Friday check up, the doctor asked her to come in on Easter Sunday for an important follow up to be sure the dog was comfortable. That's great service! I am satisfied with the service quality, and the staff was very pleasant. We were searching for a new veterinarian, and I think we've found one! I would definitely recommend their services.

The doctors and staff are top notch. While they are a busy practice, they have the latest and greatest technology around. The best part is they have 24 hour emergency service. Having multiple pets, I have had to use their emergency services and they have always been there for my pets.

I just experienced the worst visit to a vet's office ever. My 13lb dachshunds appointment was for 11 o'clock this morning. We arrived at 10:55 and did not get into a room until 11:46. We then proceeded to wait till 12:02 to see a doctor in the room. The appointment was to get her left ear checked and get a script for heartgard. The visit was bad from the minute we walked in the door. The receptionist was very rude and lacked knowledge about shots- which is unfortunate because the receptionist I spoke to when I called to make the appointment last week was very knowledgeable and helpful. Dr.Clements (whom by the way I thought I have been seeing the last 2 years, but clearly have not) is inconsiderate, unconcerned, and rude. When I stated that we have been waiting for over an hour, he glossed right over my concerns and proceeded to ask me to put "the dog on the table." My dog is very anxious at the vet so I put her on the table and was attempting to calm her down when he just began grabbing her and turning her around- do you even sort of care about animals, sir? He then went on to essentially tell me that I am this worst pet owner (in so many words) known to man. He told me that she does have some gunk in her right ear, in addition to the left, as he yanked her head towards me with the otoscope in her ear as if he needed to prove something to me. He proceeded to look in her mouth as well, which is fine, but he then told that the plaque on her teeth will cause her heart problems sooner rather then later and that she needs to be sedated to have it removed. Frankly, I try brushing her teeth once a week- it's incredibly difficult- BUT if he would have nicely explained this all to me, I would have been more receptive. He then told me that her toenails will be clipped in the office today- I told him no, she is getting them done Friday and he once again, RUDELY kind of stared at me as if I lacked all intelligence possible. At that point, he tried to place a tourniquet on her leg to withdrawal blood for her heartworm test. I asked him what he was doing because she had already had blood drawn (by the vet tech- who deserves credit because she was very kind and considerate and drew blood with ease). Once again- he looked at me as if I was insane, ripped the tourniquet off, and walked out of the room with a simple "I'll be back shortly." Another 10 minutes go by and he comes back into the room to let me know that her heartworm and lyme test were negative. Great. She does, however, have a yeast infection in her left ear- he does not ask if I want $75 worth of meds, but just proceeds to start doing it- PLUS I had to ask for instruction on how to do this go forward. He was clearly annoyed, but took a whole 30 seconds to explain it to me. When I asked a question, I was met with pure defiance. Obviously, I would have agreed to the meds REGARDLESS, but it was the principle of how it was handled- then again, he does seem to think I'm incompetent, so I guess this makes sense. So, it's now 12:21 and he proceeds to walk out of the room. I follow him into the hall to ask if he is going to provide me with a heartworm script. He whips around (again, clearly pressed for time) and says "Oh, yeah, for Sentinel, right?" Nope- heartgard, please. AND another sideways look. I go to check out and my bill is NOTHING that I expected. I pay it, I ask for her medical records, and I leave. No concerns as to why I want her medical records, by the way. I get home and go the take the $75 worth of ear meds out of the bag and Dr.Clements put the large bottle in the bag with the lid open.. so I now have a bag full of prescription ear liquid. NEVER going back to this disorganized, foul smelling, and disgruntled office, EVER. My family's dogs always went to Dr.Kenworthy in Hershey, and my dog will now be going there as well. Thanks for nothing Palmyra Animal Hospital- you are AWFUL.

After looking around for a coupon for spaying my new rescue kitten I found a coupon on SNAP for a $40 spaying and chose this clinic because it was the closest, participating vet to my house. When I called, the man on the phone was nice and helpful which sealed the deal for me. I made an appointment for a spaying and to get rabies and leukemia shots and paid my $30 deposit over the phone. When I checked in I was told that there were various options for spaying and when I asked about the cost of the pain medication they told me the coupon voucher covered the cost for the pain medication. When I came back to get my cat and to pay, the total added up to $160, way more than I had expected with the coupon voucher. When they ushered me in to get my cat I had to wait in my room for 15 minutes until the doctor came in. She rushed through instructions and almost left before I could go over costs with her. They had forgotten to take off the $30 deposited, charged me for the pain medication even though they had stated it was included in the voucher, checked for fleas (an added expense that was pointless since I had already treated her myself!) and had done a physical exam (with I did not request) which cost me $48 (way more than my regular vet). I will never go there again, it's a pure sham! They will charge you whatever they can and do not care. I am afraid of what it would have cost me without the spaying coupon. Just beware, they sound nice on the phone but really, all they want is your money and they charge you up the nose for anything they can.
