A stray cat has been visiting our house. We have been feeding him, but with the past couple of days of brutal cold nights we grew quite worried about the cat. We could not take it in as there are two cats in the house all ready and they do not like the stray. We decided to take him/her to the SPCA, this was once someone's pet, as the cat is very friendly. Got to the SPCA and was told that they would accept the cat if we paid $50.00 towards medical costs. Really?? for an organization that claims that it puts the animals first, this shocked us. I asked if I had called and said the cat was being abused would they come get him/her and they responded yes, but it would be a while. REALLY? Said I wasn't going to pay $50.00 for an animal that wasn't mine. I realize the shelters are full now, and people are turning in pets for whatever reason, but again, This place is on tv begging for donations saying they save animals lives. So what happens to this stray cat? We ended up bying a box for $5.40, put the kitty in the box and set off to ACCT. Cat destroyed box on trip, and ended up holding kitty on lap until we got to ACCT. They accepted the cat and informed us we would see the cat as they spray/ give shots and turn them lose again. Please be careful of this agency with your donations, it's better to go to a smaller shelter, where they do make every attempt to find the animal a home.

We needed a simple neuter surgery for our one year old pup, and our vet wanted to charge $800. The SPCA was a significantly more affordable option, so we decided to try it not knowing what kind of service we would encounter. It was great. Every staff person was extremely friendly and knowledgable. We feel Waffles got great care there. Will use in future as more affordable option for our healthy pup.

This place is crowded and busy but the staff really care about the animals and will do their best to help you.
