My family and i have been taking our cats and dogs to Smoketown for years. The staff and the doctors have always been great and very knowledgeable! I saw some bad reviews on here from several years ago and I can honestly say that in all the time we've been going to Smoketown, we've never had any issues with the care they have provided. I plan on taking my new cat to them and even if they are more expensive than some places, the extra cost is worth it.

Barb and I own Ella a year and eight month old Newfoundland. She began to hobble and limp in pain after running and playing when she was a little over a year old. We found out from Dr. Gayle Jaeger at Smoketown that she had to have shoulder OCD surgery on both of her front shoulders. Dr Jaeger and the team, everyone, at Smoketown Vet did an incredible job. Dr. Jaeger was wonderful, understanding, kind to Ella, professional, skilled, patient and a great surgeon based on the awesome results. Ella now runs and swims - she's a Newfie! she swims and swims and swims and swims! and plays and chases and now at full speed and with great ease. We're looking forward to years and years of great companionship and activity. The care and friendliness and skilled and persistently achieving rehabilitation team headed up by Dr. Sarah Urban was fantastic - Ella was excited to go there every time it was rehab day - they treated Ella like a star - and even sent home a silly picture of Ella just because they were enjoying spending time helping her recover. The administrative staff was wonderful from accurate reasonable estimates to working with our vet insurance company to handling Care Credit to efficient appointments and kind effective service. Their prices were reasonable and the service and result and attitude and ability were five star. I would recommend them to anyone with a pet needing surgery. They were a blessing. Thanks to all of them.

We adopted a senior dog from the Humane League and took him to the VCA Smoketown Animal Hospital. They were so nice, made my dog feel very comfortable. I could tell that everyone that worked there just loved animals, my dog got lots of love from everyone and he enjoyed every minute of it! I would highly recommend this vet office and we will continue to take our dog here and any other pets we get down the road.

They nay be expensive but they treat your pet like one of your children.

I have been using the services of Dr. H. since the birth of our new puppy March 1, 2009 - and she ROCKS! Talla recently was ill and you know how that can go - emergencies require you see the first available and Dr. H. was not available, but she made herself available and I was so very pleased because she knows what she is doing and she is gentle! I love this place! They never miss a beat, love the staff! My sister has been using Dr. Battah for many years, and I now know why! No wonder they are voted Lancaster's favorite year after year!
