AMH is a wonderful veterinary practice. They are professional, caring, and go out of their way to provide excellent care. I've been taking Jonas, my 19 year old geriatric cat, to AMH since I moved to State College in 2010. Jonas has hyperthyroidism and is prone to renal problems. Given her age and these chronic conditions, there have been some medical emergencies over the years. In these situations, the staff was sensitive and accommodating. Under Dr. O'Connell's care, Jonas bounced back from a serious medical scare and is currently enjoying her geriatric years. Jonas follows a special diet, takes daily supplements, and gets bi-weekly fluids, so I especially like the convenience of being able to renew prescriptions online and pick them up at AMH. I highly recommend AMH!

I used to really like Animal Medical Hospital until my dog had to be put down and the vet was very insensitive telling me I chose the "easy" way out. They sent me the bill in the mail and when I called to pay they said that it was strange I got the bill so soon making me think the vet sent it to me early just to spite me. I also have rabbits, and I had been taking them there for check ups regularly. They gave me some very bad misinformation about their diets, and I refuse to return to this vet after the series of events that took place.

Five years ago, I was holding my dog in my arms crying my eyes out because he was so sick. I took my dog to many doctors and they had no idea what was wrong with him. After giving up hope a friend of my mom's told me to go to AMH and see Dr. Friedlander. That day he diagnosis my dog with a severe sensitive stomach along with allergies. He thoroughly examined my dog, took x-rays, went over my dogs records, asked many questions and researched the symptoms which the other doctors did not do previously. I was so relieved that Dr. Friedlander could tell me what was wrong and we could start the process of making my dog feel better. Five years later my dog is doing wonderful and we couldn't be more happier with the love and attention he receives from AMH. Everyone is so helpful and caring. I love AMH and Dr. Friedlander! I have been taking my kitty Simba to AMH since she was just a tiny baby, over 12 years now - in fact, I actually adopted her from them as Simba had been dropped off at AMH as a homeless kitten. My friend Crystal works there and had called me to see if I wanted a new kitty since I'd recently lost my old companion cat of many years. I have happily been Simba's dutiful servant and have been waiting attentively on her every whim and demand ever since. The staff at AMH is great and always does their best to make Simba as comfortable as possible when she needs their services. And with Simba, that is no small task :-) Anyway, I can heartily recommend AMH as a great place to go for animal health services when you want the best for your little buddies.

We have taken our animals to Animal Medical for 20 years and can't say enough good things about this practice. They have cared for some from their first vet visit through the end of life. The vets and staff are excellent and they make sure that you understand everything that they find during an appointment and thoroughly discuss any needed tests, medication, procedures. They get back to you quickly with results and call to check on how the patient is doing the next day. When our one dog was near the end with terminal kidney failure, the vet and a tech came to the house to euthanize him, in the place where he was most comfortable. We have seen all of the vets in the practice and can highly recommend them if you are looking for life long care for your pet.
