This place had sort of helped me once. My cat was pretty far gone and very old and died anyway, which may have been unavoidable. Recently, my 3.5 year old cat developed jaundice from not eating and was awaiting test results for Leukemia and various feline viruses from our regular vet, and I was having a hard time feeding her at home with the syringe. I came into CP Vets on the weekend for help with feeding her, to find out if they could take over for a few hours or at least teach me how to do a better job. The tech said "Well, this is a weird one. We've never had anyone ask to board and feed a cat before. Let me ask the doctor." She disappeared and we sat in the room for about 30 minutes. I poked my head out the door after a while and saw them hanging out in the main room just talking and no one else was around. The tech looked up at me and said "oh!" when I came out of the room. We thought they were blowing us off, so to confirm we started to leave. No one even came in to politely say "I'm sorry, we can't accommodate your request." The secretary saw us leave and was on the phone. She barely flinched and never asked us to pay, which was evidence to me that she was in the plan to blow us off. I'd been sobbing all day over the cat and looked rather unkempt from having spent the day running between vet offices in my pajamas, had cat food stains on my shirt from feeding attempts, so perhaps they thought i was insane. If they are not insightful enough to at least see through the initial impression of a client who is stressed out, then I'm not sure how insightful they will be with regards to your pet's needs.
I was SO glad this clinic was available to me. I know that not every area has access to a clinic like this. My puppy had a seizure, and I was terrified. I'd never seen her have one, and I had no idea what to do. Basically, I was inconsolible. Not only did they help us, but they were kind and patient. When I called in, I was a blubbering mess. It's surprising that they could understand what I was saying. They were professional, and never treated me as though I were overreacting (though in fairness I may have been). When we brought her in they were very thorough and gentle with her. They also took the time to answer all of our questions and didn't rush us at all. They were very reassuring, and even though they kept her over night I wasn't worried at all once I got her there. The only downside was the cost, but it was to be expected. Any emergency veterinary care is often pretty pricey. Given how worried I was about her, I didn't really care that it cost that much.
Fast service, Amazing people all the way from the receptionist, to the vet techs, to the doctor herself! They really cared about my animal and showed it! Very reasonably priced for an emergency service! Highly recommended!
I took my cat's two three-week-old kittens to this vet when they were suffering from flea-bite anemia (her two girl kittens had died from it the previous morning). The animals were well cared for, and the vet apparently did his best. Two paws up for Chairman Meow, the friendly resident cat who had blood taken from him to try to save our little boys. The only issue I have with the clinic is that they gave the one surviving boy a partial transfusion, with blood "enough for a few days", and gave me the remaining blood to have my regular vet finish the procedure, as they were closing for the morning. When the boy was given back to me, I noted that his breathing seemed labored, but the tech told me not to worry, that he was just excited from the stress. In retrospect, I should have pushed the issue more and also asked for some kind of kitten remedy for fleas (I was told to ask my regular vet about it), because I think he was still flagging when he left the clinic. It wasn't long after we arrived at the regular vet's that the baby had a heart attack and even my vet's attempts to save him wouldn't suffice. I understand that kittens are fragile and easily susceptible and that even a perfectly healthy, flea-less kitten can die suddenly with no chance of being saved. I know they did their job at the emergency vet's office, but I really wish they would have made absolute certain that Squinky was all right and listened to my concern before ushering me off to my regular vet's. My advice when using this clinic: go to them, but if something still doesn't seem right with your animal before you leave, don't let it drop like I did.
