Critter care became my newest vet for my family of pets which included new Puppy Caesar, a rotty spaniel mix who is adorable playful and just clumsy. They greeted us with a smile and the vet tech and the vet were just the kindest people in the world, explaining how to deal with Puppys when they want to nibble and chew on things. The kids who went with us even enjoyed the experience. I recommend this vet for your pets.

I have been taking my cats to Critter Care for 14 years. I have taken feral cats, stray cats and also my own house cats. Dr. Portugal has always treated my animals very professionally, even the ferals and strays that I have had to bring in. She treated one of my cats who had asthma and diabetes. To help me save money, she taught me to give this cat injections so I wouldn't have to bring him in for shots every three weeks. With her care, this cat lived over 7 years, which he wouldn't have considering he had both conditions simultaneously. She has always been compassionate and kind when I have had to euthanize any of them for cancer, feline leukemia, stroke, emphysema and other terminal diseases. She even met me at her office one Sunday night at 11:00 p.m. to treat my asthmatic cat who would have died from the severe asthma attack he was having. I have never had a problem getting an appointment when my cats were sick and her diagnosis has always been correct. Her staff have always been very polite to me especially Tara and Teresa. Each time I have been in her waiting room, the people I met there were very happy with her service. Many of them have been bringing their animals to her for years. One man who moved away drove the distance just to have her take care of his dog. I would recommend her and have recommended her in the past.

Our experience with Dr. Laurie has been really very good. She's very hands-on with our dog, coming out into the waiting area and getting down on the floor to play with him and make him feel at ease. We've also had an opportunity to call Critter Care on the phone to ask a question and Dr. Laurie has picked up right away and helped us out. We've really appreciated that. The only negative we've experienced is the front office staff which is strangely cold, abrupt and often just plain rude. I'm not sure what the problem is but it's a real put-off that makes you think twice about coming in.

I have had nothing but exceptional service from Critter Care for years. Dr. Portugal has provided service to new puppies, healthy and aging dogs, bunnies and iguanas for us. It's obvious that she and her staff love pets. Beyond that, and more important, we've relied on Critter Care for countless routine veterinary needs and a good number of out-of-the-ordinary medical needs. I have found Dr. Portugal to be ultra responsive to our needs, honest, and caring. She and her staff provide of top notch veterinary and medical services (at a fraction of the cost of other vets).

i was a little fearful after some reading some of the reviews on here, but i have to say i thought the doctor was great, nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly, and not too expensive. I used to take my animals to Animal Clinic of Thorndale but they are so overpriced it is ridiculous, and I am finding out after getting the records from AC that my animals are in much better hands at Critter Care. Definitely would recommend Critter Care!
