A great compassionate clinic and staff, along with extremely reasonable prices. If you require a sterile hospital type environment with uniformed staff and shiny new veterinary equipment and lots of "med-speak" when discussing your animals' care, this is probably not your place. If what you want is excellent and truly compassionate care for your beloved furry family member, I highly recommend SoCo Vet clinic. I have had many animals over the years, which translate into lots of veterinary care and subsequent costs. I have been to dozens of clinics and vets in many cities and states over the years. In my experience, my animals have received just as good care, many times even better care at the low cost clinics I've gone to. Clinics like SoCo, allow people on tighter budgets to have good veterinary care for their pets.

After many years of caring for our dogs like they're our kids, we've learned that you can be fooled by the appearance of many veterinary clinics. South Congress Veterinary Clinic has a vintage "Old Austin" look inside, and it's not unusual for the staff to be so busy attending to customers that they might not pick up the phones right away. But if you want thorough, compassionate, common-sense veterinary care that won't bankrupt you, we think that Dr. Hardesty at South Congress Veterinary is impossible to beat. After our previous vet retired (and before we found this facility), we took the advice of a neighbor and tried a big, new animal hospital in South Austin. The place has beautiful waiting rooms and numerous veterinarians on staff – but we found that its personnel lack common sense and empathy, and the thousands of dollars we paid this newer facility for questionable diagnostic tests didn't result in any improvements for our pets. Thanks goodness for South Congress Veterinary Clinic. We recommend them often.

My dog is impossible. I'll be the first to say that my dog is probably a vet's worst nightmare. He snaps at you when you try to trim his toenails and has separation anxiety when in new places. Unfortunately, there are times in a dog's life (especially when he's a 40 pound rescue) that you need to get work done. This time it was teeth and a long overdue nail trim. Not only do you get a 20% discount out an OUTRAGEOUSLY good quote for dental cleanings on Mondays, but this vet cuddled on our dog like he was an 8 pound kitten. I am also one of those owners who recoils at the idea of getting regular things done on my dogs out of fear of extra tests and high bills, not so at this place. They are very upfront with their pricing (again did I mention how awesome their prices are?) and will even let you escape 10 minute visits without a bill. They are the very reason my dogs will be receiving more consistent petcare and why I will no longer google every symptom that comes up before contacting my vet. Thank you for being an amazing vet for people who love their pets but are living on a tight budget.

Ive called two numbers,got same voice message saying hours of operation and blah blah blah. Then i gps their address, says call for an appointment. How can we make an appointment when they never answer the dam phone !!!!!!!!

This is the best vet clinic in Austin. The staff treats your pets like they are their very own. Betsy is a God send in every way. Don't go anywhere else for you pet needs. On a sad note, we had to end up putting our beloved pet to sleep, and Betsy made the extremely sad situation go by in a loving manner. Her tone and demeanor with our dog was beautiful.
