My name is Lindsey. And I have an italian grey hound puppy who is hypoglycemic. While visiting my family in denison my dogs blood sugar dropped significantly. She got to a point where I had never seen her. she was foaming at the mouth, very lethargic, and was so weak she could not stand or lift her head. i began to fear for my dogs life so i looked up emergency vet hospitals close to where my family lived. after calling animal hospital of denison, i was informed that they would not be seeing my dog. i started to panic. they said they would not take her because she was not being seen by a vet close by. I still to this day do not under stand why they did not see her. They told me they would refer me to someone else who would see her. they gave me a telephone number for a hospital in collin county. which was over an hours drive away. i began to get frantic with the lady and told her this was unacceptable and that my poor puppy needed medical assistance immeadiatley or she would seize, fall into a coma and die. I begged them to see her. and they turned me away. by the time i got my dog to the hospital over an hour away she was lucky to be alive. they had to give her an I.V. and monitor her closely. this hospital could have saved my dogs life. but they were perfectly content to let her die. their moto says "Animal Pet Hospital of Denison is dedicated to serving the needs of our clients. Our mission is to provide excellent and compassionate care for all our patients to extend their quality of life". they are the biggest joke of a hospital i have ever heard of. i know there are regulations and policy but put yourself in my shoes. if it was your puppy in critical condition one could only hope that a pet hospital would want save your dog just as much as you do. with animal pet hospital of denison, this was not the case. thanks for absolutely nothing
