Very disappointing. They didn't ask me permission to perform services on my pet. Expensive. I felt rushed when wanting more information about my dying pet. Overall just a bad experience. I will not take any more pets here.

I used Dr. Layh for over 5 years and from having 6 different pets, I get the feeling he only likes dogs. Every time I would bring one of my 2 dogs in, he was so happy and helpful. When it was a cat, I would continuously get a misdiagnosis and very little attention to my sick animal. One of my cats had extensive testing and blood work and ended up staying over night only for him to not have an answer to why he coughed all the time. I took my cat to another vet to find out the cat has asthma and began a steroid treatment and a diet and the cat was better in a week. The second cat I had an issue with scratched all the hair off her neck and would not eat. When she did eat, she became ill. This was a cat he had seen for years at this point. He did an exam and did not find anything. He gave her a steroid shot and sent us home. A few days later, she was not improving, so we took her back again. He still could not find anything wrong with her. At this point she had scratched her neck open to an exposed would around the size of a quater. He stitched her up and sent us home. She then opened the wound a few days later and was still not eating. We went back for a third time only for him to stitch her back up. We later took her to another vet and found out she had a huge tumor covering her entire stomach that could be felt by the new vet by just a physical exam with later xrays as proof. She was not able to be helped at this point and we had to put her down. The third cat I had an issue with was elderly. She became extremely jaundice. When we took her up there, he did some blood work and said there was not saving her and we should just put her down. We requested to take her home for the night since we had been on vacation the week prior to her becoming ill and wanted a little more time to say goodbye. The front office told us just to come in when we were ready the next day. When we finally arrived, they told us he was in surgery and would be a little while. They placed us in a room and within 10 minutes, Dr. Layh came in wearing latex gloves covered in blood and told us he did not have time for us so to just leave the cat and he would take care of her when he was finished. I was applaud at his crass nature to this situation. He takes cats as disposable creatures with no care or compassion, do not take your cat here!

Denton Veterinary Center was fantastic! I had to take my 6 year old French Bulldog in for a growth on her belly button. Dr. Wuensche was so thorough that he found an abscess tooth, that I was unaware of. He was able to have her teeth cleaned the same day, as well as pulled the tooth, and remove her growth on her abdomen. They were very effecient, thorough and very friendly. I would recommend Dr. Wuensche to anyone!

After taking three cats to this vet under extreme circumstances, I have learned they are really just in this for the money. I took my dying cat in and told them I just needed him to be put down. I ended up walking out with an over $200 vet bill. They charged an "examination fee" plus gas and the euthanasia. I paid it but once I reviewed it, I called them pretty angry. The lady just said that there was nothing she could do and hung up on me. After spending nearly three thousand dollars at this place to bury my three cats in my backyard, I've finally decided to go somewhere else.

Their website was very helpful with information. I was able to make an appointment for only an hour after my call. The office was clean, and the registration process was quick. I was brought back with my pet a few minutes after registering. The doctor is very gentle with the animals and friendly. He asked relevant questions and explained what was going on with my pet. He prescribed a medicine and showed me how to use it. The whole visit only cost $37. Very positive experience.
