We've used Koy Animal Clinic for almost 28 years. Dr. Koy was great as are Drs. Hensley and Webster. I have a cat, "that almost died" as another reviewer said, twice. Dr. Webster saved his life the first time by removing a bladder obstruction. Dr. Hensley saved his life the second time because of a bowel obstruction. Its easy to say "cats throw up all the time". Yes, sometimes they do and sometimes its not simply constipation. How many vets do you know who will crawl into the cage with your very sick pet and cradle him/her in their arms and help nurse them back to health? As a kid, I worked for a vet throughout high school and while in college worked at the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine. I can tell you from those experiences that crawling into the cage with your sick pet to simply hold them is not routine yet that is exactly what Dr. Hensley did with our cat, Mr. Mason. The rest of the staff is first class as well.

Brought my cat in this morning for what I thought was a stomach bug of come kind. I was being helped by a new young doctor who took my cat to the "back" to draw blood and to give him a hydration treatment. A few minutes later the nurse returns to collects my carrier without explanation. Then the doctor returned and informed me that my cat had bit her so she was going to report it to the local animal control and that I could not have my cat back. When I went a little bonkers, another doctor came in and explained that this was fairly routine and that I would be able to take my cat home for a 10 day quarantine once the report was filed. But meanwhile they had to keep my cat until the report was filed. Three hours later I returned to pick my cat up and found out that the 10 day quarantine was to occur at the local ANIMAL SHELTER and I would not be able to see him, hold him, or touch him for 10 days. Stay away from these bozo's....they lie, they're clearly incompetent (as any vet that doesn't know about or prepare for animal bites in their line of work probably shouldn't be a vet imho.) After 20 years of putting my trust in them, I will never set foot on to their property again. Dr. Koy, a great vet who started the practice is long retired. Save your pet's life and go somewhere else.

Will not be going here again. I have a variety of complaints about this place after just one year of visits. First of all, they do the whole "Oh your cat barfed, he might be dying, he needs this $300 blood test." bullshit. Unfortunately, my fiance fell for that (he doesn't know cats barf all the time) and ended paying for the tests (and getting results back 2 days later than they told us) just so we can be told that my cat wasn't dying after all (imagine that) and is just constipated. Thanks, we knew that, that's the reason we brought him in in the first place. Gave us no treatment or advice on the problem, just took our money and sent him home. I ended up looking up constipation treatments on the internet (hairball remedy worked wonders). Then there was the time I took my three dogs in. For *everything*, they take the animals into the back room and then hand them back to you when they're done. I've never liked this about their practice and it was even worse this time. I specifically told them to only trim our GSD's nails, we do the chihuahuas ourself. They took all the dogs in the back cause the wahwahs were getting shots too, and I listened to my GSD howl and yelp for 10 minutes, no idea what they were doing to him. Gave me no explanation on what he was so upset over. Then they brought the wahwahs back saying they "went ahead and did their nails too." I assumed they were being polite since I'd explicitly told them I'm not paying for that. Guess what was on the bill. $40 for that thing I asked them to not do. The worst thing they've done though? Tell me that their blood tests indicated my cat needed 3 units of insulin twice a day, which sent him into a hypoglycemic seizure at 3 am a few days later. Bought a home testing kit cause I no longer trusted them, guess whose blood sugar was *fine* every time I tested it. Thanks for taking my money and ALMOST KILLING MY CAT.

I want to point out first that same person wrote three different one-star reviews, which isn't fair for the average. Just a side note. For almost ten years I have been VERY pleased with the care that Dr. Koy and Dr. Webster have offered our two mini dachshunds. In one case, our 7-year old female experienced a neck injury and it looked like surgery was imminent (and very costly). I promise you, the care that Dr. Webster offered would have made you thought that dog was his, not ours! He was patient and worked us through a course of (inexpensive) medication that brought our little girl back to 100% health. How common is that?! Suffice to say I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Webster and his staff...uncommon service and care. Take your "kids" there and you won't regret it.

Dr. Webster was referred by our friends at Tail Waggins Dog Bakery in G'town. I was very pleased with the service and friendliness of his staff. We're so happy to have found our new vet!
